So it has been 5.5 days since we got off the Dream and does anyone know how long land legs take to come back?

The last night was a little rocky and a lot rocky for some and I felt fine. However, since we got off all the adults have felt really dizzy and have had headaches daily. We did take Bonine once does that have anything to do with it? It gets particually bad in the shower where my wife almost fell last night. It just seems odd that all 6 adults are feeling the same way

All the children seem fine

We must of been on the same sailing!

I have been on many cruises and never had this problem until this time. My husband thinks there is something wrong with me. I have these moments of dizziness and then they just go away :confused3

We've been back from the Wonder for over a week now and my husband has just got his land legs back. He started taking dramamine to get over the rockiness. I don't think he'll ever take another cruise because of it.

We were on the 2/27 Dream and we have cruised before and have never felt this. It's very strange and maybe dramamine may help, we are going to try it.

You can feel the boat rock while on board but not bad it seems worse since we got home. Dizzy for 3 minutes and then it's gone. Comes back about 30 minutes later for another 3 minutes

Very strange

It took me 7 to 10 days, my DD about 7 days, my hubby and DS no issues:confused3

Do you have allergies? What you describe sounds like my husband's allergies. Would it affect all 6 adults:confused3

I hope you feel better soon.

There is actually a rare condition called Mal de Debarquement Syndrome, where the feeling of ocean movement continues after you get off the ship:

It can be mild or severe. If it doesn't get better in a few weeks, you might want to look into this.

However, seeing that so many people in your group got it, I'd be more inclined to think it's some sort of illness that you folks picked up that is causing some vertigo. Have you been to a doctor yet?

Sayhello

Mine lasted about 4-5 days. I ended up taking a "less drowsy" dramamine which took care of it.

I once had a middle ear infection that caused vertigo and it felt like the room was rocking. I agree with Sayhello. If your condition doesn't clear up in 2 or 3 days, you should see if you actually have an ear infection.

I got this after my first cruise. It lasted off and on for about 2 weeks. It would happen most often in the shower or if I'd bend over and stand back up quickly.

I had this after our cruise - probably lasted 5-7 days. I was dizzy and disoriented a good bit of the time - yet fine on the ship !

Several nights after our 4 night cruise last September I would close my eyes and feel our bed at home rocking. Too funny!! :upsidedow

It took me days after our three day. I was fine on the ship, but after we got off I was in rough shape. I would just start to topple over when I was standing still. It was most noticeable when I was standing still for more than a few monents (like in the shower, etc). As long as I was moving I was fine.

Hope you feel better.

I know this happens and it sounds awful..hope everyone who is experiencing it feels better soon.

I was deathly afraid of getting sea sick on my first cruise this past February so I took Bonine 2 days before boarding AND two days after. Luckily I had no ill effects because I loved cruising so much!

We were also on the 2/27 sailing of the Dream and have had the same exact issue...we'll be walking, or in the shower and feel as if we are rocking! I am finally better completely today, though I now have a cold. My SO is also better...as of Monday (yesterday) I believe...We didn't take anything...it just went away on it's own...

It took me about 5 days after a 4 day cruise, followed by a cross-country flight home. DH never experienced anything.

The shower can make it worse because the water and tilting of the head affect your sense of balance.

Give it time.

On the seven night or shorter cruises I didn't feel this. However after the 15 night Panama Canal cruise I could feel the rocking. I never had the headaches however. It took about four or five days before I felt back to normal. Also; small enclosed spaces made it feel worse for me.

Did everyone take something while on the cruise and then stop after.. then felt the rocking?

I have only been on 2 cruises.. a 7 and a 15 and never felt this, but it scares me to think I may.. I have meniere's disease, which causes me to feel dizzy anyway.. so I would be freaked if it got worse.. or perhaps I am used to it.. :lmao:

Were the waves really rolling on the cruises you guys were on?

Sorry you are all feeling bad.. hope it gets better really soon. ;)

Yes the waves were really really high. Even our stateroom host was green and very sick.

I had this too. I actually fell off a stool in my house. (my husband laughed at me). I have been Ok today though.

But man the first few days I swear my house was still on the boat. Interestingly my kids didn't seem to have any trouble.

I am glad it is not just me! I was on the Dream a month ago. I rarely ever even felt the ship move, however I felt like I was moving for about 8 days after. This had never happened to me before for this long. I had come down with the flu the day I got off the boat and I believe that didn't help any. I bet a lot of people thought that I had been drinking on my lunch breaks! I had such a hard time standing straight. It slowly went away. Hope yours does too.

I take a half of a dramamine every day on the cruise and continue it for a week afterwards, otherwise I continue to rock even after off the ship. Sitting at work and my computer is moving up and down!!!! This happened to me after my first cruise. Cruises 2 through 4, I continued the dramamine after I got home and never had anymore problems.
