Post all SW questions concerns, etc. here...

Our flight home from MCO dropped by $56 per person from what I paid. I had also purchased seat upgrades. When I cancelled the original flight to take advantage of the discount, I lost the price I paid for the seat upgrades. I didn't realize that it wasn't refundable.

Yup unfortunately they are not refundable just like early bird check in was not if you cancel.

Did you "Modify" or actually "Cancel" I'm not sure if it would make a difference as my CC gives us preferred seat selection at booking.

I changed a flight on 11/9 which I had purchased with points and added payment for seats and I received a refund for the seats when I changed flight to get discount price.

I have the SWA Priority Card and haven't spent enough for all of my $75 annual travel credit to apply to my account. From what I understand, this benefit will expire 12/31/25, even though my card doesn't AF doesn't charge me until May 2026. Is that right? I am thinking about just upgrading from a priority seat to an extra legroom seat so we can use it up and not let it waste. Will that work to get the credit back? Also, can flight credits be used to pay for upgrading seats?

Presumably the seat upgrade will work, but so will buying a SW gift card directly from the SW site. That's what I've done when I needed to hit the $75 before I had natural spend coming up, and then that GC can be used for the taxes and fees on points bookings or for cash bookings.

I selected "change flight" rather than cancel. I don't know if it makes a difference.

I bought a Choice ticket which includes standard seating. I have the SW Premier card which let me select a preferred seat for a small additional fee.

I am curious about your refund. Did you buy a Choice Preferred ticket?

I think I bought the Choice ticket and than paid extra for a preferred seat than modified seat to a standard seat…my confirmation number is the same as before I changed seat so I must have just changed seat but didn’t change flight and used points for flight.
Nope that can’t be right because I do see a point refund too. Darn I don’t know what I did but I see a point refund and a refund (credit) for seat change and I went from a preferred seat to a standard seat.
