Post all SW questions concerns, etc. here...

Ugh, I cancelled the Plus card because I want to try to get the 100,000 point Priority card but it keeps saying I have a Southwest card. Does anyone know how long the card has to be closed before I am eligible for a new card?
This was included in the email I received in November:

This product is available to you if you do not have a current Southwest Rapid Rewards® Credit Card and have not received a new Cardmember bonus within the last 24 months. This does not apply to Business Card and Employee credit card products.

Yes, I know in the past when we cancelled a card, it was a 2-year waiting period before the same person could get a new one in their name - at least to get the benefits or promo. We've alternated at times with me being primary and my spouse being primary.

To clarity, it's two years from the date the sign up bonus was earned, not two years from when it was cancelled.

I’ve had that card for more than two years so haven’t gotten a bonus is quite a while. I think there must be a waiting period after I close the card though, I’m just wondering what that is?

To get a new bonus it you must apply 24 months or longer after the bonus was received not the card opening date which is harder to determine unless you tracked spend or have had the card for a long long time. Most welcome offers give you at minimum 3 months and then say the bonus is issued 6-8 weeks later but it is usually sooner.

If you currently have a SW card and close it you may open a new one 31 days later to qualify for the new offer.

Has anyone received the email to add your companion from the promotion earlier this year ? It is supposed to start tomorrow.
Thanks
