1. Does anyone know what size coffee filters are needed for the coffee pots at vero beach? Or do they have a store on property that sells them. Coffee is necessary for me and at SSR I remember having to buy extra.

2. My FIL is bringing his fishing poles to VB. Do they allow surfcasting at the beach or will they have to go elsewhere?

3. Do they have BBQ grills on property? I was thinking it would be fun to BBQ, but not sure if it was available. I understand there may be too large of risk to property, but just curious.

I can answer the 3rd question for you. I was there last June and the BBQ/picnic area across the street was terrible. The grills looked like they hadn't been cleaned - ever.

I spoke to a CM about it and she was nice enough to volunteer someone to clean them but by then it was a moot point as we had already decided to go out.

Maybe they have been taken care of since then, but I have no idea.

1- they take the regular 10-12 cup sized filters, and yes, the store they does sell them (something like 50 for $2)

2-Yes they will allow it, but FIL may wish to wander a bit north or south of directly in front of the resort so as maximize the distance between himself and anyone swiming in front of the resort.

Thanks for the info.

We will be stopping at a grocery store, so I will be sure to get filters.

We will check the BBQ area the first day.

With regard to fishing, I was concerned about whether they allow fishing on the beaches. Is there any special permits necessary? Around us, there is limited activity allowed at the beach as they are mostly municiple beaches. It is pretty much swimming. Some beaches go as far as to ban snorkling.

I'm not sure whether or not permits are needed. However, I did see people fishing early in the day last March.

How was Vero Beach in June?. Extremely hot, kids activities, campfires at night, crowded? Any help will be grateful. Going in June.

June was great! Spent the day either at the pool, which was not too crowded or playing in the ocean. We went to one campfire but the wood was pretty wet and would not light too well, but it was fun anyway.

There were lots of activities for the kids but I enjoyed playing with my GF (now ex-GF)'s son.

If you see a housekeeper, ask her for some coffee filters. People leave them in the kitchen after they depart and the housekeepers put them in the storage area.
