Hi everyone!

So my husband and I decided we want to start trying for our first baby :yay:however we have a trip scheduled to Disney for the end of Sept/Oct.. IF by chance I am pregnant in Disney (and it would be early in the pregnancy) will we still have a good time? Its just the two of us going and I don't want him to miss out on rides because I cant go on them. I'm just hoping it wont be a waste of $$ because I wouldn't be able to do a lot of my favorite rides.

Also, anyone ever not known they were pregnant and rode all the rides?

Thanks for your help :-)

I hope you conceive quickly. However, I would just plan on it taking a while and going on about your life until it does.

Have a great trip.

I went when pregnant and I was about two months along. I asked my OB about roller coasters and she said that I could still go on them during my 1st trimester.

It depends. If you're like me, and suffering from extreme all day sickness during the first trimester, I'd say no. But if you're one of those ladies who has minimal or no sickness, you'll have a great time.

My OB told me that all of the rides are fine in the first trimester, and that in the second trimester I can ride anything as long as it isn't jamming a safety bar into my abdomen. We are hoping I feel better so I can go on our October trip. I'll be 25 weeks by then, so I'll probably stay away from Space, BTMRR, 7DMT, Barnstormer, Test Track and anything else that makes me feel uneasy.

I went at 4 months pregnant and it was fine - I skipped the thrill rides but still had fun. I will say - my feel swelled up a bit after a long day in the parks and I couldn't walk as fast.

My wife went at 7 1/2 months-8 months pregnant. Dr. told her it was the best time for a pregnant woman to go because there was no morning sickness and such by then. Just had to make sure she kept feet elevated and she stayed cool. It wasn't easy & she caught a cold but overall it was a good trip. From what I hear, the first trimester is a bad time to go.

I went a 4.5 months. It was our babymoon. lol Make sure you drink plenty of water, take breaks, have healthy snacks on hand, never skip an opportunity to use the restroom and skip anything with mountain in the name. The rides that aren't safe for mommies to be have a sign posted.

Depends on how fast of course but I wouldn't cancel just yet (and this is coming from someone who had SEVERE HG from 5 weeks through the rest of the pregnancy).

Pixie and baby dust to you pixiedust:

I didn't develop morning sickness until about 8 weeks along, so maybe it wouldn't be too bad for you? I just wasn't hungry for much. (Which could save you money on snacks in the parks!)

We had an all inclusive vacation for Mexico planned and I got pregnant. I was about 12 weeks along and it was ok, but the food looked and smelled weird to me. And I really wanted a beer or cocktail but I couldnt. I had the trip booked way before I got pregnant, so we just rolled with it.

Good luck!

Really depends on the woman.

Morning sickness can be an issue. The heat can be an issue. Some Thrill rides can be an issue.

Good news - plenty of snack foods and bathrooms.

I went once to WDW when I was 19 weeks pregnant. I still had lots of fun and we used it as an opportunity to ride a lot of the tamer rides and shows we normally skipped. There are a lot more things you CAN ride than CANNOT while pregnant. Just have to take your time and go a little slower.

For my last two pregnancies, I was pregnant and didn't know it at WDW. Took a pregnancy test when we arrived home and found out I was pregnant. Both times I rode everything and even had a few drinks. My doctor said it wasn't a big deal since that early on, lots of people don't know they are pregnant and go on to have healthy pregnancies, which I did both times.

I was lucky. With all three of my pregnancies, I never had morning sickness.

I'd say it depends on 2 things.

1) How you fell physically (morning sickness, etc)

2) Your attitude.

Skuttle made a great point about skin some different rides/shows. If you spend the whole time moping about missing the thrill rides, you might be miserable, but if you go with a good attitude about enjoying everything else, you can still have a great time! I know I did at 5.5 months pregnant. :)

I found out I was three weeks pregnant when we went with our 2 year old. I just took slow and did not ride any roller coasters but still had a magical time! None of our family members even knew as we surprised them a couple weeks later. It was our super secret with Disney! I was told that you can ride roller coasters in your first semester but as your first pregnancy I would not risk it because you do not know your body. Both of my pregnancies I bled for a bit in my first semester and I was afraid I was miscarrying but it was due to my lining and the way my body works.

I went when I was 20 weeks pregnant and while there were still plenty of things I could do, there were a lot of my favorites that I couldn't do. :(

Plus, being 20 weeks pregnant at Disney, in August....is just never a good idea I'm thinking, lol.

I personally wouldn't do it again.

Well, she could also be like me and conceive immediately. Twice. Be prepared for both scenarios. I'd also find out what your options are for canceling should you feel bad, OP.

My wife went at 4 and 6 months and rode everything both trips. Everyone is different. Ask your doctor.

Did anyone ever say anything to her when she got on a ride that had the pregnancy warning signs? I'll be 6 months and I'm hoping to at least ride Splash and Soarin. My OB said they're fine.

I don't know about Splash Mountain but I can't see why you wouldn't be able to go on Soarin

The thing I'm worried about with Splash are the safety bars they installed a few years ago. My OB said there's nothing wrong with the drop- it's not going to be harmful as long as I'm having the typical pregnancy. He's concerned about the safety bar slamming into my belly.

Anyway I was more curious if Bama's wife received any strange looks riding anything! I'm totally riding Soarin!

Sorry to hijack, OP!

Back in the early 90s, our routine was to go to Disney in September, right after Labor Day. In 1995, my wife got pregnant at the beginning of January, meaning she was due in late September. We realized our usual trip wouldn't happen. So we booked a trip in February instead. We had a great time and did almost everything we normally do. She just skipped the thrill rides - Space Mountain, Big Thunder, etc. Other than that, it was pretty much the same as always. We enjoyed it every bit as much as every other trip. Go and have a great time.
