Never thought I'd say this but I may have managed to persuade (not that it was hard to) my amazing fiancé to return again next year and just do disney rather than universal and all the other parks! Been looking end of feb into April for 2 weeks and seen some decent pricing just upon browsing, I know I could get the prices down even more! Although I really would like to go the first 2 weeks of December to see it all Christmassy! But can't find any 2014 pricing yet but we'll see, keeping my fingers crossed! :-) excited by the thought of going back again next year though considering I've only ever been 3 yearly!! Eeeek! :-)

Anyone use the deluxe dining plan before? The pricing I got for feb into April was with the deluxe dining plan, I've never even used the dining plan before let alone the deluxe one?

The deluxe plan is a lot of food and you're going to spend a substantial chunk of time getting to and working around adrs

I might do it for 3 days but not 2 weeks

Something to be aware of if you're a splash mountain fan is that it's going down for an extended refurb from 6 January to 22 March. Just in case you want to work dates around it being open for part or all if your trip

With regards DDP, depends how much they are charging for it... Complete Orlando are only charging £27 for me and £9 for my son for the dates we're hoping for next year so am going to pay it but would pay a ridiculous amount for it. "Each to their own" though I guess. Just found out I'm getting a £5000 compensation payment from Thomson at end Oct/early Nov so am REALLY excited as I know for definite we can do deluxe Disney as well as Lapland Xmas next year!! Sorry but am WELL excited!! :) :) :)

Should have said £27 for me and £9 for my son per day.. have been quoted as over £50 for me and over £10 for my son on sites other than Complete Orlando. I always expect to pay approx $100 a day for food as we're not big eaters so works out ok for me :)

Dining plan prices are pretty fixed. It is very unlikely that the per person per day charge will vary between travel agents and if so, the difference will be negligible

Really wow! I'd love to know why they are paying out that.
They totally Screwed up my disney wedding and we are still fighting them 5 years on as all they have offered us is £200 in bloody vouchers which we have declined!

What happened to your wedding?

I'd like to know that too, I'm sorry that happened to you.

Have you been to a solicitor about it?

And to the OP - where have the best deluxe prices been? We are hoping to do a deluxe trip next year too!

They're paying it as a goodwill gesture as we're outside the limitation period to sue them for destroying my life. In 2008, I took my son and his dad for a hol to First Choice holiday village in Portugal for our first family holiday. There was a blood stain on the sheet when we got there so I took a picture of it and put it in the corner of the room assuming the cleaners would take it. Ticks were coming in and biting me as they are attracted to oestrogen and my son was only 22 mths old so I had heightened oestrogen levels still after my pregnancy. I started feeling like I had a bee stuck in my nose (that was pins and needles but I didn't realise at the time). 2 weeks after I got home, I was rushed to hospital with what they thought was a stroke. Within a further 9 days, I was in a vegetated state and could only communicate via blinking. They told my mum to prepare for the worst as there was a VERY high chance I would be dead within a few days unless I started responding to treatment. At best, I would be paralysed from the neck down and need care 24/7. I spent 6 and half mths in hospital and it took a further two years to get me to where I am today. My son's dad walked out on us while I was in hospital and I was left with MS, residual brain damage, a right sided weakness, paralysis of my right hand and no peripheral vision. My son was left with Autism brought on through trauma. Had I sued them at the time, I would've got over a million but I wasn't strong enough to and you have to bring a case within two years. To be honest, I was happy to be alive and have my beautiful son. No amount of money could be better than that. But I wrote to First Choice and got a letter back saying "Sorry you didn't enjoy your holiday and hope to see you again soon". I had such anger and emotional problems especially with having to come to terms with my newfound disability. I now have a FANTASTIC partner, the most WONDERFUL son I could ever ask for, I function fine 90% of the time and I'm going to go back to uni to study for the Masters Degree I had just started just before I got ill. Better still, I now know that I am strong enough to do whatever I put my mind to and I have no fear of death :) :) :)

I've found the best prices for deluxe hotels are via Disney's site but I think it depends on a few factors: if you want flight inclusive hol; when you want to go; where you fly from and if you don't go down the flight inclusive option, if you're prepared to make any flight changes or want direct flights. Flights won't be released on Disney site for the dates we want to travel til approx 10 Oct but if they come in around £2000 for 1 adult, 1 child (most places are coming in at £1700 - £2000 unless it's Virgin) then I can have a Lagoon Club room at Disney's Yacht Club Resort flight inclusive package for just over £7000... for same dates via Thomson, Thomas Cook and Complete Orlando, it would cost just over £7000 for basic room in Animal Kingdom Lodge. Even if I book hotel and everything on Complete Orlando for basic room in a deluxe hotel and get indirect flights, it will work out about the same! We would be travelling from Manchester though and if you can travel from London airports, it seems to be cheaper.

What happened to your wedding?

Not sure where to start with my wedding but ill give the basics
I booked my disney wedding and honeymoon with
First choice/Thomson around 12 months before our wedding, my dh went on deployment and I would go in each wk to pay off the balance. Anyways you can't book the wedding side until so many months out, so when the time came we paid in full and signed all forms!

Around 2 months before the wedding we still had not had our wedding book with the selections we get to choose plus we had upgraded to the wedding pavilion and so wanted the book of extras to make our day more special,

I was not apart of DIS at this time and only knew the basics of what I was entitled to through the disney wedding site.
A month before the wedding dh came home and asked if we had a wedding date yet" you choose a date about a month out"
I called first choice and said I had heard nothing from the wedding planner, they said not to worry they would sort it, by now I'm starting to panic.
Anyways 2 wks before our trip I called the first choice wedding team myself who told me I had no wedding!!! Non of the paper work was sent off and so they had cancelled our wedding!
As you can Imagine I was in bits, the man on the phone was rude nasty and said there was nothing to be done as it was too late! Even though they had our money.

I called dh at work and we drove straight to the travel agent,
I had gotten to know the girls who worked there and they was shocked at what had happened and swore the paper work had been sent off.

Anyways they got disney on the phone and I made my choices for flowers cake etc but could get NON of the extras I wanted as it was too late! So no carriage characters or dessert party! we had 15 friends and family coming I cried for days.

We got to disney and found out our wedding had been shoved between 2 others! Our planner spent the whole time sorting out the other weddings while attending ours!
We was shoved in a horrid tiny convention room for the cake cutting instead of the terrace over looking the lake we should of had with the upgrade!
We had an amazing photographer Randy who spent ages doing our pictures only for the planner to keep telling him to hurry up! Randy said in no way was he rushing our pictures.

Planner then told me when I went to get another glass of champagne to leave some for my guests! Dh asked for some extra bottles and was told their wasn't any available he questioned this a few times as how could there be no other champagne on the Grand floridian?? she then told us we could not do dh speech as there was no time! As the best man had used up too much time!

All she did was keep looking at her watch and leaving to go talk on her radio about the other wedding! I know it was about the other wedding as my guests told me,
We complained to disney about how devastated we was, for them to put the blame on first choice.
Which I understand but they could have acted like our day meant something, the planner was just rude, plus they never called me to do the 2 30 minute planning sessions.we should have been told about being put in the tiny room in the convention centre section as we had paid for the terrace,

First choice are saying we should be happy we had the wedding!
It was so bad DH told me to plan another wedding, for so long I've been to upset to do so, my adoptive dad passed away a few years before my wedding but loved disney so much and it was his wish for me to be a princess for the day and get married at Disney,
we are planning a blessing so I can have the wedding of my dreams.

To some it may not seem a big deal but to me it was everything I had ever dreamed of as a child going to disney every yr.

Sorry to hear what Disney did or didn't do during the wedding. There really is no excuse for that
But the travel agent but sounds oh so familiar, I booked mine through virgin. At one point I had five different invoices with five different amounts, one didn't even have the wedding on it. Virgin canceled my magic kingdom shoot after I had to book it because they wouldn't try to do it til the month before, by the time I found out the time slot I'd booked was gone so had to do a different time, so instead of lovely dawn photos all mine are pitch black skies.
The virgin planner in Orlando even told me that Disney photography are cr*p and that I should go with them

Have been warning people of booking weddings through travel agents ever since

I know its awful isn't it!
I did not realise at the time that I could have booked direct through disney for the wedding!
It broke my heart to not get the carriage or the desert terrace as we had been saving for 2 years to pay for it!
I really felt let down by Disney though, they knew how upset we was about not getting the extras and yet still shoved our wedding into a box room like it didn't matter.
I felt that because the other weddings were bigger that ours did not in any way matter to them!
Our planner did not contact me once in the 2 wks before the wedding so I did not get what I paid for,
Did not even get hold of us until the night before the wedding with a time to be picked up!!!

She also forgot to book our grand Floridian cafe booking and ended up doing at the ceremony which meant we was stuck in the middle if the room!
