Is Tusker House a table service restaurant only, or is it a counter service as well? I thought I read that it was both, but when I went to Allears to see the menu, it looks as though it is a table service only. :confused3

Tusker House USED to be a counter service. It is now a buffet, TS only. There is a character meal there now too, but just at breakfast.:)

That's not a dumb question. It used to be a counter service, and now it's a buffet. If you're a little bit adventurous, you might find it the best buffet at WDW, too. We did. Everything was fresh and well done.

It used to be counter service but was converted to a table service buffet. You might be thinking of Yak and Yeti, which has both counter service and table service.

I really wanted to try this, but for some reason I thought it was still both and didnt make ADR's for it. I doubt I could get in now.

I keep waiting for one of these "Warning: stupid question" threads to actually contain a stupid question. ;)

We were just there last week for lunch with no ADR. We may have waited 30+ minutes. From what I read the breakfast is better.

We ate the breakfast buffet during our last trip in december 07. We thought the food was good and there were plenty of characters there...more than the other character meals we did that trip (5 of them...we do alot of character meals). Already have ADR to go back during OCT trip and doing alot less character meals this time. I'm Hoping it hasnt changed.

Don't be so sure you can't get in. While it may be necessary to make ADRs months in advance at some places, that's often not the case. I called about a week before for our last trip, and it was CHRISTMAS WEEK! The only ADR I wanted and couldn't get was Boma. I took Tusker House as a substitute (lunch on Christmas Eve) and we loved it. We did eat kind of late -- 2, I think.

We used to go to Disney every summer, and I would make our "priority seatings" as we drove through South Carolina or Geogia on the way down.

You probably were thinking of Yak and Yeti, which has both a table service and a quick service option. I can see why it's confusing, especially since (as you've seen the responses) that Tusker House originally was counter service until about a year, give or take, ago.
