Like most of you due to travel out over the BH weekend I was starting to stress about the possibility of the strike so I contacted Virgin Atlantic this morning and was told the following (I called both the general number and flying club and was told the same thing by 2 different people)
They were 100% confident that the strike was NOT going to go ahead. I then asked them what the situation would be if it did go ahead and they said that people would be offered alternative flights with other airlines or alternative dates to fly.
I tried to see if I could move my flight to a day earlier (Thurs 23 Aug) and they told me that I would have to pay £50 each to make the change plus the difference in prices (worked out to nearly £1000) so for the sake of a day I said thanks but no thanks.
I dont think the management at Virgin will allow a strike to go ahead.
Fingers crossed.
