possible to rent future year points?

This is a question that I hope someone may know the answer to...

Is it possible to rent points (preferably transfer) a future year's points to someone else? I have a December use year. Can I transfer '06 points into someone's account or otherwise rent them (for immediate use, that is)? I don't think you can transfer/rent borrowed points. Or can you?

You can definitely transfer them. I had points transferred to me early last year from members who had December and September 05 UYs. The transfers were done in April.

Although I can't speak first hand, I am pretty sure you can borrow the points to make immediate reservations for someone but I don't know if you would really want to do that. What if they cancel? Now you are dealing with borrowed points.
