Can anyone tell me if it is possible to go to a character breakfast and not have everyone in your party eat? I would like to take my children to one but I don't eat breakfast, and can't rationalize paying 18.99 ++. Is it possible to attend with my children? I see that LTT specifically states 5.00 entertainment fee if you are not dining, but I have not heard any policy anywhere else. PS I don't intend to try to sneak food off their plates. :)

I've never tried to do this (I like to eat! :) ), but IIRC, the official policy is no. Everyone attending has to pay, whether or not they're planning to eat. You can always plead your case to a hostess or a manager and see what happens, but be prepared to either pay or go somewhere else if you don't get the answer you want.

Alternate suggestions: go to a character lunch or dinner instead of breakfast. Also, some of the "breakfasts" are served up until 11:00/11:30 - you could make it an early lunch.

I'm not a very big breakfast eater either. We have 2 character breakfasts booked and we booked them both for 11:00 am. For me it will be both breakfast and lunch. I usually take granola bars with me so if my son gets hungry before our reservation he can have something small to eat.

I have heard it discussed on the DIS that there is a fee for people who attend the character meal who don't eat. Something in the neighborhood of $6-8. Can't remember the exact amount. Anybody verify?

I don't think the price is just for the meal, it's for use of the table and the character's visiting etc... even if I didn't eat, I would pay. I don't think non paying customers should take up tables unless there is a minimum surcharge, like the 5.00 entertainment fee.. etc.

I have seen guests do this with kids at Biergarten. Biergarten has entertainment, but not characters. Well, the entertainers are characters. ;)

Once I noticed a party of 4 adults and one young teen. The kid played with a game boy while the adults ate. They must have been sitting at the table right next to us, because I recall overhearing one saying they had taken the kid to another place to eat before they came in.

That's a little different that what you are asking. But I assume it can be done. :confused3
