We are planning our first trip to the Fort in June. Half of our party will be in a cabin and the other half in a camper. We booked through Grand Gatherings so they said they would put us as close as possible. Is it realistic to think that we can be close enough to walk between our locations? Should we get a golf cart to be on safe side?

Make sure on the ressies that it has your specific request. And about 5-10 days prior to your visit, I would call Reservations a couple times to ask again . (I tend to be a pest like that,,I also often get what I need being a pest like that :goodvibes)
Hava great trip, TAKE PICS and don't forget a trip report when ya'll get back !:thumbsup2

Cabin loop 2100 and camping loop 1100 back up to each other, this is as close as you can get.

Make sure u r listed as a magical gathering. Also u can link ur ressies and request that u r close. We do the 1100 camping loop and get the cabin loop 2200 (i think). It has always worked.

Denise is right the 2100 cabin loop backs up to the 1100 RV loop. The #s that back up to each other are; 1111-2122,1113-2124,1115-2126,1116-2128,1117-2130,1119-2132, and 1120-2134.
There is also a path from 2100 loop to 1100 loop that passes between 2134 and 2135.
Cabin loop 2200 is right across the street from RV loop 1100 not backedup to it but very close.
The 2100 cabin loop also backs up to the 2000 loop for tents and pop ups but there is a creek between them.

You can also request the 100 Loop; there are two cabins and the rest of the sites are for campers. It is the closest (Non-Pet) Loop to the Settlement and the Marina.

I've seen those cabins . so it is possible to get those ??? how ??

In the 3 years I have been on The Dis only once have I heard of anyone staying in the 100 loop cabins. And it was just a fluke, they didn't ask for them. Rumor is they are VIP.
