Possible problem when collecting car hire

Last summer we hired from Dollar at Sanford airport. This time I am travelling alone and have arranged to hire a car from Dollar again but this time will be landing at MCO. At Sanford, we were told we weren't allowed in the Dollar building with luggage when queuing up to do the paperwork and collecting the key before collecting the car. Do they have this same quirky rule at MCO? Seems rather strange and cannot see them being able to enforce it on lone travellers!

Anyone else experienced this?

You'll be fine at MCO. All the car hire desks are along one wall on the ground floor. There is plenty of space for luggage.
There is a small queue area which you can take all you luggage into if you want to - some people leave older kids/spouse to the side with luggage but nobody will stop you keeping it with you.
We kept ours with us even at the desk when we were getting the keys - no problem.

Thanks Angela, that's reassuring. To be honest, I cannot really see why they were stopping people going near the desks in Sanford with luggage. The area wasn't small! Can only imagine it was some security "thing" rather than a lack of space "thing"!

I can see the reason for them wanting to discourage groups of people all queueing up in the line with ALL their luggage, but on the other hand some common sense is needed for single travellers so they don't have to leave their luggage unattended.

At Sanford, when flying alone, I ignored their sign and took my stuff with me.

As has been said, you won't have any problems at MCO.

Exactamundo! I'd rather do this whilst sorting out the paperwork etc in peace.

This is exactly what we did last summer at Sanford and was quite happy to do so. Can certainly do without the kids under my feet! At least I won't have that problem this time, just have the problem of lugging my own luggage around rather than getting DH to do it for me!
