Possible Nov or Dec trip: Questions

We are toying with the idea of trying to go to WDW for a week later this year. We've had some financial setbacks this year (nothing we couldn't handle, but it forced us to cancel some previous plans we had for the Summer) so it will only be for a week, driving instead of flying, staying off site (although I'm hoping we can get a decent rate at a DTD hotel that time of year). Questions...

What time of year might be better... Early to mid November or early December? We want to avoid both the Thanksgiving and Christmas crowds. Does the Thanksgiving crowd die down a bit after that holiday, or does it stay crowded all through Christmas?

Any help appreciated :D

Definitely early December. The crowds die down for a bit after Thanksgiving, up until mid-December, then they steadily get worse until Christmas.

In early December, you get to take advantage of all the wonderful Chrismas decorations and activities, without the crowds!

I like early December - very low crowds and cool weather.
I am arriving December 10th.
Have you thought about renting from a DVC member? If you rent sunday - thursday you can get a real good deal. You can get a studio for 80.00 a night at Old Key West. It's higher on the weekend. That's what we are doing this time.

Actually I am going to look into renting points, but it still might be more than I want to pay as there are four of us going and we would need two bedrooms. I'm not too worried about staying offsite if we have to since we will be driving and will have a car while we are there. I hate being at the mercy of off site shuttles.

Nice to hear early December is a good time, as I was leaning more towards that time period.

We've been both during early November and early December and they are both nice times to go. Great weather and low crowds! However I would put the edge to early December since WDW is decorated for Christmas at that time and that is a sight to be seen!

We like early to mid December also. It is much less crowded than any other time of the year we have been there. The Christmas decorations make it even more magical. Don't miss MVMCP if you can swing the money. Debby

We've also been to WDW early Nov and early Dec. Last year we went early Nov and although the weather was great I missed being there in early Dec. with all of the holiday decorations and events.

The crowds were at a lower attendance for both times we went. Although I think there may be just a little less in early Dec. However we did encounter some rain and chilly temps in early Dec. But, we didn't mind, felt more like the "season" (especially at the Osborne Lights with the fake snow-felt almost like it was real).

We're hoping to return in early Dec again this year.

MCMVP does sell out pretty quick once their advertising starts on it.

MVMCP tickets are on sale now.
We did priceline.com a couple of years ago and got a nice hotel off site close to Animal kingdom entrance. Paid around 36.00 plus tax. I don't remember the name but it was nice. Renaissance maybe?
We're also driving in December so we can hit the Mississippi casinos coming and going.

We had the time of our lives! No crowds! Great Weather! Christmas decorations! Other people who have been at WDW at other times are amazed at how much we were able to do and see.
