Possible good news for offsiters and FP+

I will let you know at midnight.

I have tickets linked for a stay a split night stay at the BC/Dolphin May 31-June 6. Although I do have a qualifying on-site stay, I don't think this has any bearing on my ability to book FP+ starting on Feb 6, which is what my MDE is telling me now when I click on "make selections".

I put in a number of bogus dinner reservations in April, working backwards from April 11th. The date that I could first book FP+ on MDE, let's call this the "booking date", reflected 60 days out from the bogus reservation until I tried to reserve April 6th. At that point, the "booking date" changed to April 11th. When I deleted the ADR for April 6, the booking date changed back to Feb 6th, where it is now.

It's unknown if tonight at midnight I will have the ability to book FP+, or will it change again to a later date (April 11th).

Stay tuned. Will try to post tonight...

Thanks for diving head first :)

This is what I am pretty sure is going on. If you are staying off site and book any ADR for April 7th or later you will be able to make fastpass plus selections starting February 6th ( this Thursday). For each day after April 7th an ADR is booked, the ability to reserve fastpass will be moved ahead a day (example: an April 8 ADR will allow reserving to start February 7th, an April 9 ADR will allow reserving to start February 8th.) Those dates are all 60 days apart. However, if you make an ADR for April 6th or earlier it will show you can start booking fastpass exactly 60 days from today's date (example is you make an ADR for April 1st then it will show you can't reserve FP til 60 days from Feb 5th which is April 6th, tomorrow on Feb 6th that same reservation would show allowed FP booking on April 7th. It will keep pushing your day you can do FP reservation back a day every day unless you have an ADR April 7th or later. There is no glitch. The date it allows you to make a fastpass reservation moves forward one day for each day that passes if your ADR is before April 7th. This basically means that you can't make fastpass selections in advance if you will be in the park on April 6th or before. April 7th ADR or later showing on MDE allows Feb 6th advanced FP booking. April 8th ADR allows Feb 7th booking and so on. So April 7th or later visits will allow advanced FP booking basically. All other before get same day booking. Of course it I don't know if it will show this without linked tickets or not but you do have to have them in order to actually make selections. April 7 is the magic day I guess as far as when you are going looks like! I know because I have tickets linked and am staying offsite at wyndham may 24-31 and MDE says I can make FP selections starting March 25th. However when I put in an ADR for April 7th it allows Feb 6th FP selecting. April 6th or any day or month before that of an ADR only lets me book 60 days from the current date. When I cancel my bogus ADR in April it goes back to allowing 60 days before my real visit. That help? I think offsite really will get the benefit as long as you go after April 6th.

Nope, didn't work....

When I went to book fast passes for April 6th, it now says that I can start my FP+ selections on April 11th!

This was my concern. There is another glitch in the system that says the booking date is 60 days before the ADR, but when the booking date arrives, it resets itself to April 11th. I deleted my ADR for April 7th, and now the booking date is back to Feb 9th, as my next ADR is for April 10th.

My guess is that off-site booking will be available after April 11th.

Thanks for trying. We all continue to wait and see how this will play out.

So are you saying that your feeling is that the date an off-site guest would be able to start booking FP+s is in April, to be used 60 days later, not booking now to use in April?

I actually have no idea, but my guess is that you will not be able to go online and pre-book FP+ until April. However, if the first day to book is April 11th, you may be able to book FP+ for use on April 12, 13, etc... I would assume that once they open it up, booking for 60 days in the future will be available. I have a few more ADR's booked and I'll keep monitoring the situation. Hopefully others will have more success...

From yesterdays quarterly earnings thread heredoesn't seem like they will open FP+ to offsite guest.I got this from that thread. Maybe it is just another glitch in the system.
"He specifically mentioned FP+ is 3 per day and said "in advance if a resort guest" and "same day" if "offsite or single day guest".

Does that date keep moving or am I seeing things? Wasn't it April 8th the other day?

That's right, good catch.

I think what we are seeing in the app is work that they are doing to bring APs on the prebooking system.

my date says I can prebook march 27.. which is the 60 days before my first ADR... we shall see, if that changes or I can do it then? I am staying positive that it is NOT a glitch :)

I assume you have an ADR for late May? You may be able to pre-book, but I think that won't be until April...

I don't agree that the changes we are seeing in MDE are related to AP's coming on line, but that's my opinion...

Even in that other thread, it is unclear if he was talking about the current state, or the planned state. Various sources are indicating that they are gearing up for offsite guest advanced booking, but at a "charge" of buying a magicband.

And, as I've said all along, the initial publicity about MM+ indicated that advanced booking was part of your admission, not a resort stay, and they haven't said anything specific otherwise yet, and it has been in the T&C since day one. The plan could have changed, but I haven't seen anything to make me believe it yet.

quick ?

IF as an off-site guest I am able to advance book FP+ for my May trip (if it all comes to pass) can I split my 3 FP at two different parks? Will have park hoppers. Are people able to do that now who are on-site guests?

No, all FP+ must be in one park only. No splitting even with park hoppers.

:headache: shoot not what I hoped to hear. So even if I advance booked only one ride in one park would I beable to book two more after I entered the next park? Sigh....

Nope. It really is just one park per day for FP+ right now. They are supposedly working on it though.

See the green link in my signature for a wrap-up of basic answers in the system's current state.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was just trying to read thru the FAQ's on the disney site. Since I'm staying at Dolphin I really hadn't put too much thought into FP+ yet because I didn't think I would have it.

Thinking of doing a quick stop at AK to ride EE before heading over to HS for evening emh on arrival day. Would have been nice to make a FP for EE and then use 2 at HS but oh well. We have a short trip and riding EE on arrival night will open time for TL one day as we would then skip AK having been there many times and it not being our fav park. We'll see.... continuing on with the planning.....:surfweb:
