Possible FREE Marathon Entry

FREE MARATHON ENTRY
There is a local race that is happening in my hometown Kalamazoo Michigan in May
It is offering free entry into the Marathon for the first person to register from each state! Article Here You will also receive a free pair of New Balance tennis shoes!

Just thought I would put that out there in case anyone is interested! The marathon, 1/2 marathon, and 5K are on Sunday May 8th! This is the inaugural year for the Kalamazoo Marathon so it should be pretty cool!

Sounds like fun. Unfortunately that's the same day as the Flying Pig Marathon here in Cincinnati, which not involve any travel related expenses for me and with doing so many races next year, I'll need to keep expenses in check. Maybe 2012

Hmm... I wonder if it applies to Canadians But as much as I'd love to make the trek to Michigan, I think my body very badly needs a break from long distance running.

momhmmx2- It will be my 2nd half but my first Kalamazoo one! I live in Kalamazoo so it will be nice and close! I take it living in SW MI you will be close too!

Vicky- I understand you need a rest! You have been one buys lady!

It should be a nicely hilly course too. (I've run the Borgess Half - nice course, but not much of it was level.)

I have (tentatively - haven't signed up for it yet) the Illinois Marathon the week previous, but I might fit in an inaugural, which would let me cross off Michigan as well. Plus, it's only 30 minutes or so from me, which means driving home afterward wouldn't be so bad.

ShaDad- the inaugural would LOVE to have you! I know that they are working hard to make it a great race with lots of community involvement! I'll be doing the half, but cheering on the full marathon runners as I'm able to!

Nikki~ YUP Right here in Kalamazoo too..I just took up running this year so this will be my first time to experience running in the snow..should be interesting!

Me too!! I'm more of a walker but run when I get bored!

Are you doing any local races? I'm going to do the 5K turkey trot at West Middle school this thanksgiving!
