possible free dining offer advice needed

Rumor has it that some FD deal might be released for the fall season as early as July 12th ( http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2951866 )

Note that this is a rumor, nothing but a rumor, unless confirmed by Disney on the official websites

I don't want to build up too much expectation as it is rumor, but I'd like some insight on what to do, should that deal be made avalaible

I'm booked with WDTC-UK, 18/10 - 09/11, POP, 21 days ultimate

Now if this deal is real, I guess it will be on the US website.
Since it seems that this deal was offered last year, do you know if it was offered on the UK site too ?

If it is possible at all, I might choose to
a) stick to pop and upgrade free QSDP to DDP
b) upgrade to POFQ and get free DDP

I suppose I'll have to book from the US website, and I will then need to buy at least one day MYW ticket as part of the package.
Unless I'm able to get this deal through WDTC as an amendment to my ressie (with admin fee), I most probably face cancellation of my current ressie and loose the £150 deposit. Or would I be able to keep that deposit, pay admin fee, and only leave the 21 days ticket ...

Well sounds a bit confusing and quite difficult, but, even if DDP does not work well for us, getting it free is something I never was entitled to (always out of luck regarding our arrival dates)

Long story short : WWYD ? and do you know how this could be done on the path of least resistance ?

Unfortunately, WDTC UK won't match any deal offered on the US website as effectively they're 2 separate companies.

Personally, I'd be going with whatever deal worked out the best. In 2010 we booked with Disney US as it was actually cheaper than UK and I wouldn't hesitate to book that way again. Infact, I'd actually prefer to book with Disney US for any future bookings I make but like I said, it all comes down to price.

If you try to book on the UK site you will get all the costs in £ if you try to book on the US site it is all in $

apparently the US website won't let you book more than 14 days (21 for the UK website) so that would basically mean a lot of trouble and a split stay (and that's a huge no for me).

At the bottom of the WDW home page there is a dropdown link 'Select an International Version', try that

There are other ways of getting round it but I usually go to the UK website first and if you scroll down you will see "Select an International Version:" on the left hand side. Choose "USA: English" and it will then redirect you to the US website

I would like to go for 14 days but the longest park ticket given was 10 days. For the free dining you need a ticket for the duration of the free dining, how have others got around this?

Does anyone have any good sites to look for flights, I've only ever done package holidays!

You are quite welcome to book through the US site we have done it many times without problems.

With US free dining there you only need to but the tickets set out in the offer usually a 2 day base.

As free dining through the US site is not yet confirmed, as far as I am aware, are you basing your statement above (re length of stay tickets) on the terms which apply to the UK deal. If so, unless the offer differs from previously, you do not need to buy a ticket which covers the period of your stay. This will obviously be confirmed when (if) the details are announced. However, it may well mean that you are limited to stays of 10 days. If the terms of this offer state that you have to have a ticket which covers the length of your stay, you have various choices*:

a) Book the maximum stay with free dining (assume 10 days), then book room only for the additional 4 days. You would not have free dining for those last (or first) 4 days, nor would you be able to save credits from the first booking to use then. You would still be able to use your ticket, though, since the MYW tickets are valid for 14 days. There is also a potential issue where you might have to change rooms as they would be separate bookings.
b) You could make two bookings for free dining (of 7 days each or various duration combinations). This would mean having to book two full packages, including two separate lots of tickets. You may still have to change rooms (although you could look at it as an opportunity to do a split stay). Also, your dining credits would expire at midnight on the last day of your first booking so any unused credits would be wasted.
c) You could choose to stay elsewere (off-site) for the last 4 days and use the opportunity to visit non-WDW parks.

If you are not lmited to buying length of stay tickets, you should be able to book for the period you require and just buy a 1 or 2-day ticket (as per previous years when this was offered).

*Be aware that the ticket you are buying will be a 10-day (or however many day) Magic Your Way ticket. This is not the same as a UK 14-Day/21-Day ultimate ticket. Unless you 'add on' to the ticket, you will not be able to park hop (i.e. visit more than one park in the same day) nor will it include visits to the Water Parks, etc, only the four main WDW theme parks. Having said that, we always buy MYW tickets as, on a 14-day trip, we never visit the WDW parks on all 14 days so it is much cheaper to buy the MYW tickets (for us).

in the early years of free ddp,you would only need to book 1 days MYW ticket to get Free ddp for your hole stay.We have booked 14 nights in the past and only got 1 days base MYW and still got the free ddp for the length of stay.If we wanted to enter the parks we would use our own MYW tickets which would already have.
Think now they say you need to stay min 5 nights and get MYW tickets. Until the offer comes out hard to say,as they tweek it each time.
if minimum buy is a 5 day say with a 5 day MYW ticket that means you can book for 14 nights and only have to book a 5 day MYW ticket
Hope that helps,better to read terms and conditions when its offered,as no kneed to worry until then(let the Dis lawyers on here do the donkey work for you,to check all the terms and conditions) .
