Possible cheap car hire

£311 for a nice car for two weeks, the code didnt work for middle of August this year. Still not bad but a bit disappointed in charging $140 dollars on top for me to be a second driver. They didnt ask my age or anything. Just thought it would be nice to give OH an occasional night off but at that rate I will drink the wine and he can be the taxi driver.:rotfl2:

Thanks for your help Wayne.

Post your dates, ages and size car and I will find best deal for you. $140 is a lot for 2nd driver (unless you are under 25)

Thanks I appreciate that at least if you don't I will know its a reasonable deal. We are both 45. Car must be 4 door and intermediate type range as we have found smaller cars won't take all our cases as we have two teenagers as well. Usually a case each. Planning now for August 2-16 this year. Last minut decision to go we were going to leave it another year but I couldn't wait. Noticed your from my neck of the woods. I worked at Batley police station for a few years and my eldest was born in DDH. now live away though. Thanks for your help don't worry if you can't find anything.

With Holiday Autos you don't add an extra driver now, that way is $140 (payable locally)
Instead you tick the Max option "max - includes cancellation waiver protection, full tank and extra drivers £56.00"
That covers your extra drivers and you get a tank of gas included, gas is proabably worth £35-40 so extra drivers are only costing about £20.

4 door intermediate would be £ 273.60 less Quidco (8% until tomorrow) = £251.71
Personally I only book 2 drs, they don't stock 2 dr cars, you get a choice from a row of 4 dr cars.

For 2 adults & 2 teens I would go for Full size or Intermediate SUV myself, we took DS's friend in 2008 so 2 adults & 2 x 13 year olds, the boot on full size (Dodge Charger) was only just big enough.

SUV would be £282 after cashback or full size would be £284, your choice but to me worth another £30.

Had a look at other companies, can't find anything anywhere near these prices.

I was born in Batley, lived there until I got married. Born near the Rugby ground on Beumont st, lived on Clark Green st, Belle Vue st Healey, Healey Lane then my Mum bought Baines Florist on Bradford road, lived there until 1989. I also stood Batley market selling flowers (around 1983-86)
Did you goto Batley schools? you are same age as me.

I have a DISmeet arranged for 5th August if you get chance to pop along. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2852630&highlight=dismeet+okw

Thanks that's really useful info.
No I was actually brought up in Pudsey but got the job at Batley. My partner was a bobby there at the time and our first home together was in East Bierley.
He also worked in Cleckheaton and Heckmondwyke. Strange names around that part of the world. He wasn't from around there came from the Doncaster area.
All the best and thanks for the info.

Sorry just seen your bit about the Dis meet. Sorry we now live down the A1 near Stamford so can't do. Thanks for mentioning though.

That would be a long drive as its over in Florida at Disney's Old Key West:rotfl: I mean't if you were on holiday, :thumbsup2

i just got an SUV for 17 days from alamo uk for £388.05

i think that's pretty good...and it includes extra drivers....which is good just in case...
and of course it includes all the insurance....

i didn't pay in advance, i just reserved it, so if i find something better, i can always change it..

i'm just editing to say that i didn't get that rate straight from alamo uk - i tried alamo uk first and it was about double that..

but i looked around on the net for voucher codes and found this on on my voucher codes or something like that
when you click the button, it takes you to alamo uk but i guess with the code built in so the rate comes out much lower..

Just wanted to say thank you - I really don't post very much but I do read and digest all the useful information and this thread has allowed me to book a lovely car and save over £200 based on Alamo's website so I'm very happy :)

Great saving :thumbsup2

A bit late in the day but there is another discount code, only valid for another hour. £25 of any booking until Dec 15th
Code UKFLASH25

Also works with the 15% link and 6% Quidco.

If you are booking tonight might be better not using the code and getting 10% Quidco (& 15% link)

OK I need to subscribe to this thread because you are so the deal man on Holiday Autos Wayne, I love it :thumbsup2

Can you definitely confirm that Holiday Autos just works with Alamo - I want to be sure of that as I prefer to use Alamo when picking up a rental in Miami as they're one of the best for the auto tolls.

Thanks

Never known anyone get anything else so I assume they only deal with Alamo.
