Not necessarily related to the details of the DP, but I've heard that there is going to be big changes to Le Cellier....and probably before 2011!

My daughter said that the changes were announced to staff this week which makes it public knowledge....
Staff were told that Le Cellier will be switching to 'signature' status as early as September 2010. Date isn't firm, because there is going to be major changes to the restaurant (she was told less tables) and a revamp of the menu!
I can only imagine how unhappy people will be with this news. Not surprising, but I'm not sure how they're going to handle the switch for people who already have ADRs.....![]()
That may deserve a thread of its own. Will be interesting to see the "fallout" on that decision. My daughter said that the changes were announced to staff this week which makes it public knowledge....

Thanks for sharing. I'm not totally surprised they are switching to "signature" status, but I am surprised by the fewer tables. It's already a small restaurant and they have no trouble filling it. I'm pretty sure it won't be as difficult to get ADRs with it taking 2TS, but it will still be popular.
I am glad the changes won't take place until September at the earliest. I have an ADR for August and it would mess up my plans if it was 2TS. I could deal with it by dropping a TS or paying OOP for a meal, but I'd rather not.
I have two reservations there for our Oct trip. If it's changed to a signature restaurant I know exactly what I'll be doing. I'll be cancelling both reservations. It's not worth 2 credits. However, I can't see them changing it to a Signature restaurant in the middle of the year, especially when people have already made reservations there expecting it to be one credit. You'd think that if they are going to change it to a Signature restaurant that they'd wait until the new year to do so. Also what about Tutto Italia? My last meal there was more expensive than my meal at Le Cellier.

She's concerned because she's in line to become a server there, but clearly they're not going to need as many servers (less tables) but the price increases should make up for the difference in the number of tables being served. She said that staff weren't too happy with the news!
I will probably be flamed for this but I just don't get the whole hype about Le Cellier. I personally think that most of the appeal is in the prices being high (therefore appearing to be a good value use of a TS credit) and the fact that it is so hard to get a reservation (which is partly due to limited capacity) and I just think a lot of the appeal is found in the triumph of actually securing a reservation there. But that's just my opinion.![]()
