Possible Changes at LeCellier

So are there any people on here that enjoy LC? It seems as if everyone is just blasting it.
We tried LC for the 1st time on our last trip and enjoyed it. Well, I enjoyed it, my DH thought it was ok. We have an ADR for this August and are looking forward to our meal.
If they switch to 2TS, we will probably not return, and not because I do not think it would be worth it, but because there are still a lot of signature restaurants I have yet to try.

I don't want to bash it. I guess, I'm one of those annoying people who tend to post those "is XXX worth the money". Drives my dh nuts. ;)

I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal there, simply ok. since we tend to pay oop, I've just never found the steaks to be all that superb or worth the expense. even by disney standards. I will say I was probably expecting so much more based on the reviews here.

I can honestly say though no way would I give them 2 ts credits for the meal.

I for one would be happy about this change, if they improve the quality of food. We always pay OOP and I would love to be able to get reservations, and have a great meal. I have no problem paying for a meal, if it is good.

I need to keep my ear open for this information...

We have never been to LC before, and managed to get an ADR for this Sept... I surely hope I don't have to cancel it, I don't have a spare credit to make a 2ts so will have to find another if they change this... too bad, because I want to try it. We have yet to go to a signature restaraunt and don't see that changing.

I'm a LC fan, I enjoy a nice meal there every trip, however if it becomes a 2TS I don't see myself going anymore. I'll just move over to Chefs de France or maybe even give Mexico a try.

The point being it will always be hard to get in ..............

No doubt since it's not very big. We will still eat here and we always manage to get at least a dinner and a lunch every trip. We just returned last week from a 2 week visit to WDW and we ate here twice that trip (but we ate at most of our favorites at least twice).

great news!!! i called disney to make another payment toward my vacation and asked the guy on the phone about ADR and what will happen if it turns signature and he said they will honor it as 1 adr because when i booked it it was considered 1 ts meal! i am soo excited!!! cuase i have 2 meals planned for this place come October! yay!!!! he did say though if i plan to come the following year it will be 2 TS which i would take into account once planning all my adr's!:banana::banana::banana::banana:

Boy, I wouldn't count on this.

why do u say that? can a CM intentionally lie?

Not intentionally, but CMs in the call centre are known for passing on incorrect advice - ask the same question of three CMs and you'll get three different answers.

The CM on the phone will not be at the restaurant when/if they charge you two credits.

Honestly, the CM's working the phones aren't always as informed as we'd like them to be. I'd want that info in writing. However, I doubt you'll get that since the package clearly states that all components are subject to change.

I absolutely would not trust the CM on the phone. Quite a few are people like you and I who answer their calls for Disney from the comfort of their own home. They have no more real knowledge of what the execs at Disney decide than you and I do.

If the information were far enough down the food chain that it was released on their central computer system, and they would KNOW what was going on, it would have leaked to us already. (Because they are regular folks, they often share secrets on the board before they are announced to the general public :) )

There will be no recourse when you go to Disney and dine at LeCellier if they do not honor your existing reservations as 1TS. Unfortunately, you won't be able to get them to change policy by saying "But the CM on the phone said...."

We enjoy it. The food is good, especially for a park restaurant. We find the resort restaurants (in general) to be better than resort restaurants. I can't think of a better choice for steak in Epcot. I would rate it somewhere between Outback and the higher end steakhouses (closer to Outback than the higher end). We had a fabulous experience there a couple years ago when we went there on our daughter's birthday. They really treated her very special. I think that's one of the main reasons we like it so much.

Yep, as other's have said, no count on this at all. See my post from an earlier post. When this change occurred, I called dining several times and asked if my reservation would be honored after the change since I made it prior to the change and every CM I asked told me YES, no problem! When I got to the restraurant they told me absolutely not, I would have to pay the current price under the new rules:

Believe me, if it changes they will not honor anyone's ADR that was booked prior to the change. I actually had that happen to me one year. Several years ago the child's age was under 11. I booked a July visit at the BC and was taking our then 10 yo grandson. I made all of my ADRs to include Cape May, Chef Mickey's, Trail's End. Then right before our trip (which was mid July) Disney announced that on July 1 the age for kids was to drop to 9 and under. I called dining regarding if this would be honored since I made the ADRs before the change and they said it should be. Well you can guess that it wasn't. I went to Cape May and asked at the desk prior to being seated if our 10 yo grandson would be charged adult or child's prices since it was booked in March and they told me adult....we walked away and didn't eat there. I then went to the front desk and asked again and was told I would have to pay the new prices and so I cancelled all of my buffet dining. He barely ate chicken strips, so there was no way we were going to pay the adult price. The only price that was honored was at the HDDR, since it had been paid in advance.

I'm with you :sad2: I can make ADRs on Sunday, 23rd & I sure hope they honor the 1 TS credit if it does change in 2010. I'd much rather try something different if we're going to have to shell out 2TS.:sad1:

I've had some REALLY great meals - that I would not have otherwise tried - because of ADR issues.

I thought I had something booked with the online dining system, but it hadn't confirmed through. I tried to get it again and it was gone. I don't even remember what it was, but we ended up at Chefs de France and really enjoyed it!

I still haven't been to Le Cellier, and the plan now is to try for a reservation for our trip December 30 - January 7. I'm hoping to get the deluxe dining plan, but currently, the way I'm booked, I can't add a dining plan. If that's still the case, we're paying for one signature restaurant and we'll probably just figure something else out for our Le Cellier slot. :)

I should have read all the pages. I didn't realize there would be quite a debate on the merits of beef. Needless to say, I also have some sources (exec chefs) within WDW and they do not serve prime.

I was very dissapointed with LeCelliar, there was nothing spectacular about this ADR. I just told my DH that the Canadian ADR was going to 2TS and he could not even rember the ADR. We went with our whole GG and no one called this their favorite ADR.

Tutto Italia was impressive and so was the GF cafe, but not LeCelliar to our group of 9:confused3

I can guarantee I will not make this ADR for 2TS:lmao:
