Positive things thread

With the negative news stories recently, I thought it would be a good time to start a positive stories thread.

Maybe related to people coming together who would not normally.

Maybe something else...

So, anyone got anything?

I saw a story out of Baton Rouge this morning where a black lady was holding the hands of a white police officer and praying with and for him.

At church yesterday we were encouraged to go hug a policeman. (or woman)

I'm happy that there have been some "fun" threads on the DIS this summer. I love coming on here daily and actually being able to laugh a little thanks to some of the light humor going on around here.

I saw something the other day about some inmates that broke out of their cell to help a guard who had collapsed.

I watched a rerun of Lassie where he saved an entire family from a burning house

My grandma's cat came home. He's been gone for 2 weeks and he finally showed up last night! I know it's not something that's going to lead the 6:00 news and maybe it's not what you're looking for but we are all rejoicing over here : )

I'll see if I can find something a bit more substantial, I love positive threads and funnies.

The day after the tragedy in Dallas, an anonymous bouquet of flowers showed up on the steps of our police hq with a note reading thank you police in obviously a small child's writing.

My grandma's cat came home. He's been gone for 2 weeks and he finally showed up last night! I know it's not something that's going to lead the 6:00 news and maybe it's not what you're looking for but we are all rejoicing over here : )

I'll see if I can find something a bit more substantial, I love positive threads and funnies.

I saw that story. They were still in handcuffs and broke out to get attention for the guard. Shows you kindness can be found anywhere and in any human heart!

My husband, who's 43 decided to go to college for the first time and took his first class this summer, just one to try it out. He found out yesterday he got a B! He's so excited and signed up today for a full load of classes online for fall. Now that's good news!

Both of my daughters were in town for dinner with us last night. That doesn't happen often when you have 20 somethings busy with career, boyfriends and school.

Good for him! Always good to hear of anyone wanting to learn. What a great motivator that 1st class and B must have been!
