Last Thursday I called Disney to pay the balance of my CBR reservation. No problem, gave my credit card number to the CM over the phone, and the transaction showed on my bank statement 2 business days later. Printed out my bank statement which shows the transaction, and I plan on taking this to Disney so I have evidence that I paid. (Just incase there are any problems......you never can be too carefull.)

If anyone is on the fence about prepaying a ressie ahead of time, I recommend it. I'm hoping it will speed up the check-in process, guess I'll see in 3.5 weeks! If not, then at least it's one less major bill I have to pay when I get there. :)

Thanks,
Diznee25

I don't think it will do anything to speed up check in. They are pretty quick at check in usually until it comes time to explain about the resort.

Good for you! There are a lot of opinions about doing this, read the thred $ just added 100.00 to my Dolphin Bill, or something like that.

If it works for you (it works for us too by the way) SUPERB! It makes the trip easier on my mind. ::yes::

I agree with you all!!!! I want to prepay from my vacation before I go, but I have one question. My reservations are for Aug 8-15 (ignore my countdown that vacation was cancelled). I plan to have my vacation paid off by the 1st of April. What happens if Disney comes out with a great deal in May or June (like last years pay for 4, stay for 7 deal). Can I apply all my monies for my booked room only to a deal package like that? Even if my room is completely paid for? Would I have to pay some kind of fee to do this? How does this work?

Thank you in advance for response!!!:sunny:

yep, just like that. It won't cause any problems and they will refund anything you don't use. Nope, no fees.

When I tried to pay some of my balance a CM gave me a fax number and told me that I had to send a fax with all the info on it as they did not take credit/debit cards over the phone....only the initial room deposit. Needless to say I was a little annoyed with that, but because we have a fax at home I went ahead and did it. I also did request that they send me an updated reservation showing the money that I had additionally paid.....which they did, I received it about a week after the fax, but I did print off my debit card statement showing the payment as well.
I want to make another payment on my room......so this time I will keep calling until I get a CM that will let me do this right over the phone....thanks for letting me know that this is possible.
Maybe you can give them a call an request an updated reservation too....this way you will have that showing your payment as well.

Thanks for this info.I have been wondering how long it would take to do this as I need about 2 more weeks to gather the change out of the sofa to finish paying and hoped that would not be to late to do it.:yo-yo:

for our stay at WL 2 yrs ago and it was nice to not get a cc statement with our stay on there charged with cc interest!!!!!! :pwe used our debit mastercard

Howdy:wave:

The last two times I went, and this time too, I have paid my ressies off in advance. I've changed this reservation around 4 times :yo-yo: and each time I've gotten a refund or sent more money (finally saved $500.00 on my ressies ::yes:: ) I've never had any problems paying off, getting refunded, checking in. I have heard other people have had problems, so I too prepare myself with all my paper work in hand. I've paid for room, tickets, disney dollars for food (didn't realize about the meal vouchers til just now, , I'll do them next time) The only money I need to have is fun money! :cool1:

Have a great trip, Hope everything works out for you:goodvibes

I'm ready to go!!!! :moped:

Ooops.....I meant debit card, not credit card. Since I stashed a certain amount of money in savings every month for vacation, I just transfered the money to my checking account when I called Disney to pay off my resort balance.

Claudia: Yes, do keep calling until you get the correct information! The CM I talked with thru my transaction made it sound as though people pay off their resort balance over the phone all the time.

I read on this board about a year ago, about this couple who paid their resort balance in full a few months before their trip. Well, when they checked-in, (forgot which Disney resort), the CM at the front counter mentioned that the computer was showing the balance. It happened to be the exact amount that they paid months ago! The CM asked if they had a conformation letter or bank statement showing the transaction. They didn't bring anything with them so it took almost an hour to get the situation sorted.

The woman who posted the above recommended bringing a bank statement showing the transaction.

That's where I got this advice.

Thanks,

I have always paid my room reservation off in advance. One less bill to deal with when you get back.

It won't really speed up your check-in process, but its nice peace of mind knowing its all paid for.::yes::

I did the same thing for this trip ... Actually, I just paid two weeks ago. I left the money in my savings account and then paid with a cash back credit card :) So we have a little extra from the card and from the interest to buy more souveniers!

Actually, it will be nice not to have a big bill at the end of the trip :)
