I just read the thread about Disney hotels under the microscope and one person said that we tend to post more about complaints than compliments, and then I read about the bad check in experience at the GF, so even though I don't usually start a thread, I thought I should post about the positive experience I had a couple of weeks ago at the CS.
I had originally made reservations for Friday - Monday for MLK, Jr. weekend, but the Friday night flights were too expensive, so I decided to wait until Saturday morning. On Sunday before, I called to cancel the first night and I could tell that the CM was probably new and wasn't sure of what he was doing. I know I should have called back to double check, but I didn't. So, when I arrived on Saturday morning I found out that he had canceled the last night, instead of the first, showing me arriving on Friday and checking out on Sunday. It took 2 CM's and a manager about 45 minutes to straighten it out, but they were all very gracious about it. I even said that I knew I should've called to double check and the manager said, "No, you shouldn't have to do that." They kept looking for a room that was ready (it was 9:00 am). I told them that it wasn't necessary - I had already stored my luggage - but they continued until they found one and also gave me a pool view room when I had reserved a standard view. Even though the CS wasn't my favorite resort (too spread out for me), I must say that all of the people there - front desk, luggage, bell service, waiter, housekeeper, etc. were exceptionally friendly and nice and went out of their way to make our stay special.
