The remake is on now. The lounge singer woman is singing I guess the new movie version of Morning After. Not so good.

I love the original. I was a fan of Irwin Allen disaster films. There's now a nostalgia factor in all the cheesy 70s stuff in those movies. I don't want to see a remake.

I saw the original one when I was about 11 or 12 and it scared me terribly. I never felt the urge to go on a cruise after seeing that!
This remake seems poorly done. In the one scene, after the ship capsizes and people are trying to find a way out- there is a kid videotaping a woman in her underwear. Ok, the ship is completely upside down, there are fires, you are trapped, but hey, theres always time to make a video. Stupid.

LOL, I am watching it while web surfing...yeah, it's pretty bad. Even the original was pretty bad...but much more entertaining. Does anyone remember "Beyond the Poisedon Adventure" where treasure hunters go back to the ship and discover people still alive in air pockets or something? LOL...

I love disaster movies...anyone remember Towering Inferno? Airport 79? I wish they would have a 'disaster movies of the past' fest on TBS...like on a saturday morning. That would be awesome.

disaster movies were big when I was in jr high. Towering Inferno scared me too.

They're coming out with a remake for the big screen in 2006, which I'm actually looking forward to. I loved the 1972 version.

I LOVE disaster movies too!!! I don't think I will be watching this tonight though.
I gotta watch Desperate housewives....and then tape Supernatural at 9pm that I missed and it is a good show!!! oh well............

LOL, you do look much better. Isn't it funny how disaster movies are always a sign that your acting career was over a long time ago?

I'm wondering how well a Towering Inferno movie would do next year? Just seems like with the memory of 9/11...I dunno, not too sure that would be well received.

I started out watching this remake with the intention of taping Desperate Housewives. This movie didn't hold my attention so I switched over to DH and watched it instead. Much better choice!

LOL...I'm still sort of watching...the rescuers have arrived. But do you really think they would come in yelling "US Navy Seals, coming in to rescue survivors"? This is pretty lame...but the tv is all the way across the room (and the remote in ON the tv)

It's so bad, yet I'm still watching. The big pile of chair is blocking our way, we'll have to go to Plan B. What a stupid movie.
