does anyone have or is anyone familiar with either Lighting and Dramatic Portraits , Michael Grecco or Beyond Portraiture , Bryan Peterson? Thanks for your opinions...I think the latter is more of a finding a good subject but wonder if they overlap or not.

I have Michael Grecco's book and think it's pretty good! Lots of great pictures with diagrams that show the lighting positioning with tips on how to get it down. He talks about cameras, different types of strobes/lights, attachments, basic rules, breaking the rules, locations, wardrobe, make up and much more.

Even if you just looked at the pictures he gives you something to think about, which is a good thing.

Another GREAT book is: Light: Science and Magic. Great stuff!!
