We're not going until November, but I'm hotel obsessive. I've scheduled us at the Embassy Suites, Garden Grove, but I just got this great coupon from the Entertainment Book website for Portofino Suites. I could get the 2 bedroom suite there at a killer rate -- and we're going to be there for 10 days, so we'd really like the extra bedroom and bathroom and room to spread out. I travel alot -- but tend to stick to name brands -- Embassy Suites and other Hiltons, primarily. I get a little nervous planning a 10 day family vacation across the country with an unknown hotel.

I would love to hear from folks who have stayed at the Portofino Suites. Primarily regarding the quality of the rooms and their cleanliness.

My husband will be at the convention center; my daughter and I will do lots of DL and some other Southern Calif. stuff.

Greatly appreciate any input, Thanks!

Hi! We just stayed at the Portofino in October 2003, although we were only in a regular room, not a suite. We found it to be great for the price, as it opened in 2000, so it's quite new. There were a few things wrong, but it really was a great hotel for the price, and we really prefer indoor corridors. Also we walked to DL the majority of the days. It took about 12 minutes I would say, but with a double stroller it was easier than the ART. There is no food available in the hotel, but right next door at the Westcoast Anaheim where we've stayed many times, there is a good coffee shop, and across the street on the way to DL is a 7 eleven. Good Luck and I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
