Anyone have experience staying at this hotel? We're just looking for basic and clean -- doesn't have to be fancy. We've stayed at Residence Inn Maingate before, but looking to do this trip on a little bit more of a budget and Portofino's price for a "Kids Suite" seems tough to beat.

TIA!

We did the kids suite there over Easter for 6 nights in the Venice building ( think that was the name) any ways it was nice. The first night was Loud loud loud the walls are so thin. There was a group of oh 40 12-14 year olds on our floor screaming running up and down the hall from 6 till 10 at night. I called the front desk and they promptly came up and army like wrangled all those kids into their rooms. I was thankful, it was my fault for not complaining earlier. The hotel staff is wonderful and does everything to make it more comfortable for you.
It was very clean and all the carpets including hallway was recently shampooed.
The only down side was the one vanity and mirror over the sink. I have teen girls and a wall mirror would if been helpful.
I liked the fact that it has interior corridors also, makes me fell a little safer.
Also having 2 tv's worked for us; we had mostly early evenings ( DGD 10 months old) and got to the park early every morning.
The frig was older and didn't seem to keep our food very cold.
But cleanliness and proximity to DL were all A+ :)

We are staying there in September. I'm excited. It's very economical. We got our reservations from Costco, but GAT.com had great prices too (they just didn't include a free character breakfast). It's cheaper than the best rates on their website.

Side question: Can I have groceries delivered there? How does that work?

We stayed there in March for 5 nights. I would stay again. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean. Easy walk to the parks although they do offer shuttle for a fee we never used it. Within easy walking distance to many great restaurants. Have fun!

We were there at the same time!!! I remember that hoard of teens!! We were in the building that had the store, not the main desk, is that the building you were in??

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. There are only 4 in the hotel. We were 2 parents, 4 kids, one in a wheelchair.

We found it to be clean, the staff were great, our room was great for a family our size. Easy walk to Disney. We had two bathrooms which was great as we had 3 teens with us too. I would stay again for sure!

LOL 2nd floor? That was the building with the store! :rotfl2: oh I wish we had 2 bathrooms :thumbsup2 I bet that was nice.
Weren't those kids out of control? The staff sure did a good job herding them tho!

Yes, we were 2nd floor too!!! When you came out the front elevator near the store we were the first room on the left, facing Katella......where were you??????

We just booked our July trip at Portofino through getawaytoday.com. Got a kids suite, will be DH and myself with two 17 year old girls. Were able to get in on the 4th and 5th night free along with getting a 3 day park hopper pass upgraded to a 5 day. Couldn't beat the price for the hotel and the park passes. I like the fact that it is very walkable to Disney if you so choose and that Anaheim Garden Walk is just across the street. Will give the girls some flexibility and independence, but me some peace of mind with both being so close to the hotel. We are very frequent WDW visitors and are used to being able to find condos/townhouses to stay in when we are there. While we didn't have that flexibility, Portofino sounds like it will be a good compromise for us all. Cannot wait to visit there!
