Porter airlines?

Thoughts or experiences with porter airlines? I have never flown with them but I have heard good things. I need to just book my return flight.

I love that they fly direct from Ottawa, we flew them last year for March break and it was great, though my son didn't like the food (but he doesn't like a lot of things). I plan to fly them in February again if I could just commit to the trip. Flying to MCO you land in terminal C which is quieter than the main terminals, but I had no issues getting Uber both times and I believe Mears picks up and drops off there now as well. Our flights were late leaving by a bit, but nothing crazy and I think most flights that day were running behind, it wasn't Porters fault from what I remember but the flight ahead of them that didn't get off the gate on time so they couldn't get to it to do their drop off/pick up.

I flew with them in January. Turned my 3 hour trip into an 8 hour because there were no direct flights from Toronto to Orlando and then on the way home they lost my luggage and left it unattended at the montreal airport so it was searched. It took 3 days to get it back. There wasn't really anything special other than that there was no middle seat. The smaller planes also have no wifi or entertainment of any kind.

I have flown with Porter several times now. Most of my flights are on time, some even early arriving. We had one in Orlando, coming home, that was delayed a few hours but that was in 2024. I love them. They have become my new favourite Canandian airline.

It's an airline... they will get you from point A to point B most of the time. Some like their 2x2 seating... but I personally don't as their seats are "stiff" and not very comfortable on long flights. Comfort wise, I'd say they are better than Westjet but on most aircraft Air Canada would be a little bit better. Buy on Board (food) is minimal, even though they provide you with that free snack and drink. Their gate locations at airports are usually not the most convenient, potentially save for Ottawa where the transborder terminal is so small to start with.

We booked daughter on porter and it was great flight, absolutely recommend.

As it is no longer possible to fly WS out of Ottawa, we have switched to Porter. We have done 3 trips to Orlando, and they now fly direct at reasonable times. Have not had any unique issues with them, all airlines have hiccups. Most of my horror stories involve Pearson, so I am very pleased.

We fly Halifax to Orlando in non-peak seasons, so we never have direct options. Porter started offering flights from here, so we took them for our Sept. 2025 trip. Similar comments to most on here - slightly late on 1 or 2 departures, on time the others. We paid for the Navigate fare (similar priced to other airlines' mid-priced fares) and we enjoyed the benfits (slightly more leg room, boarding before the bulk of the plane, flights > 2.5 hrs included a meal - only between toronto and orlando - my picky DH didn't eat, but I liked the meals I had on the way there, and on our way home). I noticed they board the main part of the plane back to front, which seems more efficient.
The one thing I'll mention about leaving MCO from terminal C is that the Porter check-in desks were SO far back in the departures area we couldn't find them easily. They were there, but they were the very last/far end desks. We just didn't see them easily.
Oh, and we liked them enough we're booked on them to fly down again in May for DH's 50th birthday trip.

Glad to hear good thing, we are set to fly with Porter in Jan 2026 from Ottawa to Orlando and if all goes well maybe again in April.

In a USA Today poll/study of some sort which was released today, Porter was declared to have the best economy class of any airline in the world, beating out airlines such as American Airlines, Air France, and Singapore Airlines. USA today called Porter "a hidden gem in the North American aviation industry".

EDIT: As a bonus, Porter flies out of terminal C in Orlando, which is where the Visa Airport Companion lounge is located, for those of us with lounge access through our Visa credit cards.

Porter is an airline. Don’t expect much better or worse, except that their planes offer no real level up in comfort for their top tier price. They have done the same nasty “bait and switch” with us 2 years in a row as WestJet used to do. We selected them for non-stop return Hfx-Orlando flights, booked well in advance only to have them change the itinerary to one with a layover. Being a wheelchair user, layovers present extra anxiety.

We do like Terminal C, though. It seems easier to navigate in and out once we pick up our rental car.

We flew to MCO via Porter at the end of October. The flight was on-time, no issues at all. The only downsides for us are that we prefer terminal B for the nostalgia of the monorail arrival, and also don't love flying out of terminal 3 at Pearson with limited food options.

This! We had to ask several times before we actually found it. Any staff we asked kept pointing fingers and saying 'there' but it took a while to figure out where 'there' was.
We had issues with check-in at Pearson, the staff person who checked us in was not pleasant and to the point of rude. We got through it and the rest was great. Would definitely fly Porter again.

Love flying in and out of terminal C, and direct flights from Ottawa are awesome.
