I did a general search for portable chargers, but most of the discussions seemed a few years old. What are your recommendations for portable chargers while at the park's? Do you use fuel rods? I heard that you now need to pay to change out the fuel rods, is this still true? Do they even have enough power to decently charge the larger phones like Samsung Notes?

We do have a charger, but it is the size of a wallet. If there was a smaller version that worked really well, I would prefer that for the park. We are considering going to bagless, at least some days. So something that could easily fit in my cargo pants would be nice

I bought one from Amazon. Just looked for the one in my budget with the best reviews. The one I purchased was by Anker and worked great!

Just a reminder that if you're flying, this needs to be in your carry-on luggage. I forgot once and had to go digging though my suitcase in the airport. Have remembered since then.

We have a family of 5 with 3 smartphones that are in fairly frequent use at the parks. We bring an older Anker Powercore 10000 and also a fuel rod as a backup. The Anker does a great job charging our phones and our usb neck fans that we bring to the parks. I use the Anker at home as well since I frequently take public transportation and I often forget to charge my phone before I leave work. The Anker model we have is a few years old but it is fairly compact and isn't terribly expensive if it gets lost and needs to be replaced.

I'm all in on Anker chargers, too. I highly recommend the Powercore 10000 Slim.

I bought the Anker as well and it works great! the only thing is at the parks I generally have to take out my portable charger meanwhile through security, so I just take it out of my backpack and hold it front of me. I haven't been stopped since doing that.

We already have an Anker, and luckily it works pretty well. It's just a little bit bigger than I normally like to stick in my cargo pants lol. I think I might just have to deal with taking a bag into the parks. It was so much easier to go baglist at universal because I didn't need my phone for a whole lot.

Prior to needing our phones all the time (and after the stroller days) I would always go bagless to the parks. Now I go bagless if we are only doing 4-5 hours or just going to explore WS since I won’t be riding many rides. But if we plan on doing more than that we take a bag with our anker charger. They are bigger but they charge quickly, ours can be used to charge a phone 4-5 times and has two ports so I charge both of our phones together.

I have Anker Power Core 5000. It’s about the size of a roll of quarters. With the new scanners that let you walk through without them rifling through your bag. It’s all quicker than before so bringing a bag isn’t a hassle as it was before.

We carried our Anker in our backpacks for 8 park days and multiple times through security. It never set off the alarm. The only thing that did were our glasses cases so we just held them in front of us.

I prefer MyCharge portable chargers because they include the wire that goes to the phone and it's built into the product. It also has a built in plug to charge the charger in a wall at any time. I use a "myCharge - HUB Turbo 10,050 mAh Portable Charger" and it charges up my iPhone 7+ four times a day if necessary. Only downside is it's a bit thick and on the heavy side, but they sell smaller ones too. I prefer the one I have because I LOVE that it will charge my phone fully four times. I never run out of juice. People ask me if they can borrow it when their phones are out of battery and there's juice to spare for them. I actually carry it in my purse with me often just in case I get stuck somewhere.
