A friend of mine is booking her honeymoon @ Disney. She can't decide between Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans French Quarter. I can't give her an opinion because those are two of the few resorts I have not yet been to. Any opinions on them would be great. Let me know which you think would be best for a honeymoon! Thanks! We stayed at Riverside for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time! We requested the mansion section, and had no problem getting it (although you should definitely tell your friends to request it on their ressie and also note that it's their honeymoon). They gave us a waterview (of a fountain) and we paid the extra $ to get a king bed (although I have a feeling they'd have given it to us for free anyway). I think it's a great resort for honeymooners because it has so much to offer. You have (almost) nightly entertainment of Bob Jackson in the lounge, carriage rides through the resort, boat rides to downtown disney and just plain beautiful landscaping!! It was great to walk around (especially at night) and just take it all in. There's also a butterfly garden at one of the mansions (I think Acadian House) that is really beautiful.

I too agree with Port Orleans Riverside. I think at Riverside the theme is a little more romantic than at French quarters. French quarter is Definitely "Mardi Gra" while Riverside is more of a "gone with the wind " theme. If your friends Choose riverside they should ask to be in one of the mansion buildings. I hear that they are remodeling some of the rooms!

We stayed at riverside in August and LOVED it! We are now going for our honeymoon in June and are staying at FQ b/c it looked so cool from what we saw.

I honestly don't think you could go wrong with either. FQ is very small and intimate, but while R is sprawling, it's very tranquil.

I'd say that htey should check out the pics on allears and see which theme they like better.

Aren't the two connected so if you stayed at one, you could pretty much enjoy the best of both worlds. I was told that FQ was more romantic, but now I am wondering if I should change my mind.
The pics on Suite Disney look nice of both, but they make me lean more towards riverside. What is the price difference if you stay at the mansions?

Here are some good riverside pics

We just visited POFQ this past March after it was renovated.

Therooms are beautiful and you'll enjoy walking around the grounds. Small cobblestone streets with gardens everywhere.

I haven't been to Riverside so I can't compare the two, but we loved POFQ.

I jsut got back from my HM this week and stayed at Riverside. it was beautiful and we stayed in the mansion section. loved it!
