Port Orleans

Hi!

How long is Port Orleans going to be under construction? Is it the Riverside or French Quarter end that is getting refurbished?

We're going in October & Riverside is available, but I'm scared to book if the French Quarter is still going to be under contruction.

POFQ is closed. The latest is that POR will be totally up and running before the end of July. I think you'll be fine, I'm staying at POR beginning 7/24.

I am no authority, but according to everything I have seen, the French Quarter is to be under construction for quite a while. They will start doing Riverside when they are done with POF. To be honest, I avoided booking at Riverside because everthing is so "iffy". If they do close POR when you are booked to stay there, they will relocate you because that is what they have done to those who were booked into POF. The whole thing is to take about 2 years.

You might want to call and make sure which parts of PO-R will be open during July. Word has it, that the rest of the resort will close for refurbishment during that time.

As for PO-FQ, the time frame for completion is 2 years.

eeyore0062, Is POR really closing down in July ? Kingoofy was told by resort staff that they are opening the whole resort at that time due to popularity and room requests ?

eeyore0062 - I have heard totally different, please let us know where you heard about POR being down in July. I am going in July and was just starting to feel comfortable again!

I purposely booked POR hoping to get bumped. I really wanted POFQ and if it opens back up before June, 2004, I will see about transferring my reservation. If not I wouldn't mind staying at POR. We requested AB building 14. But if POR is being refurbished and they want to make me a deal on WL or CR at a good price I will take it.
