hi guys :wave2:
now i know in earlier posts i said that we were going to stay at CBR well now we are thinking of port orleans riverside (i like the idea of the boat to DTD) can anyone tell me if you can request certain rooms? i quite like the magnolia rooms and is it best to upgrade to a better room view?i'm booking tomorrow so i need to have it straight in my head

thanks eve

Hi sounds like your having the same problem as me - cant make my mind up where to stay either!!
We have stayed at both CBR & port orleans, both lovely. Sorry i cant really answer your question though, i know you can request through TA but they are not gauranted, you could ask if the room is available when you check in as well as requesting it on your booking. good luck

thanks tracey :)
i always have this trouble when looking at places to stay  i know they both do look lovely i like the look of POR rooms and also the boat to downtown intrests us because we do spend some our evenings there :)

when we used to stay at POR, we always requested a specific building (not a specific room) and always got it...but of course, it's not a guarantee, just a request...

as for view, i didn't really care since the view is actually just of the corridor outside your door.....we kept our curtain closed most of the time so people couldn't look into our room as they walked by....

I certainly wouldn't pay extra for a water view at POR. The landscaping in the Bayou section is such that you can't really see any water, and even if you are on the car park side, trees and shrubs mask the view.

The water views from the Mansions would be better as there are fewer trees, but you are only looking at a river and some grass landscaping.

We also found that for the amount of time you spend in the room you are probably sleeping or getting dress/changed/undressing so the curtains and blinds would be closed anyway :)

We found Building 14 in the Bayou section an ideal location - close to the main building (reception, shops, food court, restaurant and bar) and also close to the main bus deepo.

I should have mentioned this in your CBR or POR thread, but this is another plus for POR for us. The boat ride in the dark is especially magical :wizard:

Do bear in mind, though, that the boat runs to a fairly limited timetable and finishes relatively early in the evening (maybe 10:30ish?).

As for room recommendations, like Tim, we've always been in Alligator Bayou so can't help with MM section. In AB we liked buildings 14, 18 and 27 as they are all convenient for the food court and bus stop, but don't overlook any of the parking lots ;).

thank you :) i was having such a hard time trying to decide where to stay i let my DH2B pick and so he picked CBR now if i don't like it there i will be able to blame him :rotfl2:

we have stayed in both AB and the manision

AB have the extra rollaway bed under the bed

Manisions are a wee bit further away to walk to the foodcourt etc

and remember if you do not like the room you are in you can always asked to be changed

would not waste the money up grading to a view

Any room in riverside would do me right now :hippie:
