as we are taking 3 young children we are toying with the idea of port orleans or the fort wilderness campsite, the kids will be 4, 6, 8, we are thinking of going may 07, got a price for this may, and hotel only works out at 1,300 for port orleans and 2,500 for wilderness lodge, i know they are this years prices, but it can't be much more expensive next year can it?? just getting a rough estimate for budgeting.

anyone stayed at these hotels, any good/bad tips appreciated.

hi,i went for the first time last year to PO and can't fault it,first time to disney as well. that was myself the good lady and my daughter who had a birthday while we were there (she was 12).
the sevice was great all over the resort and the transport to the parks was quick.we are going again next year 40,37,27,13,04 and looking forward to it.
there are lovely grounds with loads to do if you want a day, off and the pools are great.

as above we stayed there in 2004 and it was absolutley lovely, the kids enjoyed it and so did we, can not fault po riverside. a+

We stayed at POFQ September 2004 and loved it. All the hotel facilities were just a few minutes walk away - the resort is small and we found it very peaceful - the pool is great there also. Why not buy an AP and try for some room discounts - only one member of the family needs to buy the AP

POR has a great foodcourt and a nice main pool. The quiet pools scattered around the resort are also nice for an afternoon dip and a bit of a rest :)

Did you mean the campsite as the lodge is a deluxe? The price for Port Orlean looks very attractive :goodvibes
I noticed in another post that you said PO was better value than All stars suites :thumbsup2

I think the reason PO is cheaper than the suites is because you are getting less space for your money. Namely, you get just the one room at PO whereas at the All Stars you get two rooms (in effect) that have been turned into a suite :) The All Star rooms are slightly smaller (originally) than PO size but as you are getting two (turned into a suite) you get much more room :thumbsup2

I think the room size issue is the main one too, as to whether you choose PO or Fort Wilderness - you will have lots more room at FW.

Having said that, PO is a beautiful resort with great swimming areas, centrally located and has a lovely boatride to DTD so personally I would go for PO and just accept it could be a bit cramped in the room. But if you like to spread out, the All Star suites or FW could be the better choice for you and your family :)

thanks for your reply's, at the moment it looks like po will win the day, as the kids are only small room isn't an issue at the moment, still looking at all my options, (i never tire of looking for better deals/rooms,)but international drive is not an option now.

thanks yep its great looking at the photo's, dreams unlimited have come up with $2, 162 for 14 nights oct 07, even though we want to go oct 08,(more time to save), and wdw direct has come up with £1, 163 for the fortnight, seems cheap to me, but have to sort out flights, even with flights i think it will be cheaper than the full package.

we have stayed in PO a few time with 5
This is our favourite resort
and are going back again this year

check out package hoildays as well
this year we got a free child place plus my 15year old is classed as a child, make a big differents
myself and DH are paying full price

enjoy the planning
