Does Riverside have in room coffee makers? Is there a microwave anywhere for guest use? We are hoping to make a few light meals while there to save on the food budget.

Thanks!

I do not believe there are coffeemakers in the rooms. You may use the microwaves in the Food Court. Check the POR FAQ thread on the resorts main page.

Have a magical day.

We were able to get coffee maker, iron and ironing board from housekeeping. (also could get hairdryer, there wasn't one hanging in the room). We also got two packs of coffee for free, but we mostly made our own.

We found the microwave the last day in the Food court.
you could also get peanut butter by the bakery and jelly/honey by the condiments.

We really enjoyed this resort. Food court was most crowded 8am -9am but manageable. We found Boatwrights (the sit down restaurant) to be a better deal for breakfast because all of breakfast food was ala carte in the food court: eggs, toast, bacon etc all separate. (the omelets in Boatwrights were wonderful, kids loved Mickey pancakes).

let me know if you have any other questions.

Donna- did you have to call housekeeping for the coffee maker? I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the resort; I am really looking forward to our trip.

malitke,

yes, we had to call housekeeping and order coffeepot, iron, etc.
they brought them while we were at breakfast. You did not have to stay in the room to wait for them. I also saw a housekeeper bringing towels to the quiet pool for someone who had called them. (they only have pool towels at the main pool). The people received their towels shortly after they got to the pool.

happy to answer any other questions.
i will be posting a trip and resort report soon.

Donna,do you-or anyone else-have any idea of the status of the Riverside renovations? I am really interested in this resort for June, but I have heard that it will be undergoing refurb.....
Thanks!

Kitten,

I do not know any info about refurb of POR but we did see scaffolding in lobby and they were painting at 1 AM on day of checkin. It was all gone in morning though. I know the boat driver on the way to DTD said that FQ was getting a complete overhaul with new BR tile, carpets, linens etc. He said they were adding a lot of hidden mickeys also. Maybe they would close one or two buildings at a time to do refurb at POR.

I have started posting my trip report on the trip reports board.
Look for firstmickey trip reports. I dont know how to do links.
It was a great resort.
