When we stay moderate we have only done CRB and we like it. We would like to try a new moderate. PO Riverside appeals to me because of the boat to DTD and it seems to have a better food court then CRB. I would love some opinions on the pool. Is the slide big? Is the pool a good size? Can anyone reccomend a certain bldg to request? My kids are older teens. Thanks:)

my favorite is building 85 - short walk across the island to the food court.

look for the small things here - Disney is great on the small details.

:lovestruc POR! We prefer the Mansion section, either Acadian House or Magnolia terrace. I always ask for a location close to the bridge to Old Man Island. Very central location.

It had a nice main pool area. And quiet pools. Queen beds, rooms have been recently refurbed. Great food court, the make your own pasta is our fav. Bob Jackson puts on a fun show at night in the lounge. Boat to DTD is very scenic during day or night. I like passing the Treehouses at night, cause they leave the lights on in the empty ones, presumably so you can catch glimpses of the interiors, and maybe encourage you to book lol!!

Love watching the horse & carriages go by. Just adds to the overall ambience of the resort. :goodvibes

We love POR! The boat to DTD is a nice alternative to the buses, it's our favorite food court, the pool is a decent size with lots of shade, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. On our last trip we were in one of the farthest AB buildings and the walk still wasn't insanely horrible. After all you walk tons more in the parks!:crazy2:

Oh and I almost forgot, on every trip we rent the big boat that seats 12 from POR marina and cruise down to the DTD area to look at all the lights. Even though you can't dock there, it's still fun. The kids feel like such big shots waving to the transport boats.

We have stayed at both CB and POR. I will no longer book at CB precisely because of the food court and lack of other dining options in close proximity. At POR the food court is large, with a variety of food selections and has healthier options ... make your own salad, make your pasta, roast carving station, sandwich station, bakery, etc... And if nothing at the resort food court appeals to you for lunch or dinner, there is a sit down restaurant or you can just hope on the ferry boat to DTD, and choose from their vast number of restaurants and quick service options. Back to the resort amenities, the main pool is fabulously themed and has what my DS12 calls the "treehouse slide" and if you are looking for a quieter experience, there are "quiet" pools steps from your room. Other resort amenities that we enjoy are: renting boats at the Marina; cane-pole fishing (with real worms); horse & carriage rides; renting surrey bikes; nightly movies on the lawn and marshmallow toasting; etc... and DTD offers even more activities with Disney Quest, Splitsville, Cirque, AMC Theaters. For my family, POR wins hands down.:thumbsup2

We really like CB a lot, but I love POR! I would go into all the reasons why, but they were just covered in this thread very well... I couldn't agree with DisneyFans222 and Coconuts more... Particularly on the awesome food court and the fun, relaxing boat rides. :)

We had a lot of fun at the Alligator Bayou there and really liked it until the process were raised above our limits!!:)

yes it was Dixie Landing before - Disney decided it was too southern - like Florida is not in the south.....:rotfl2::rotfl:

We stayed at POR last July and we had no complaints.
We were in Alligator Bayou. The rooms were clean and tidy. The walk to the food court wasn't actually that far. The food court had good food. The swimming pools were clean and the kids liked the arcades.

No complaints.
