We are considering the POR for our August vacation and wondered if there is outside seating at the food court. Also, which area is nicer, Magnolia or Alligator Bayou. We've never stayed at POR before and would love to see some recent photos.

Hi, we stayed at POR last September and really loved it, the grounds are very pretty and the resort was very quiet, did not feel too busy. we stayed in the Magnolia section and this was are preferred choice as we prefer the look of the building compared to the rustic look, I think it depends on what theming you like to which section you think is nicer.

We are staying at POFQ this time even though I prefer the look of POR as my DD likes the colours of POFQ.

Exactly what the PP said. POR is beautiful and the two different themed areas, Magnolia Bend and Alligator Bayou is personal preference when it comes to choosing the type of room you want. We prefer Magnolia Bend, living in Maine we're surrounded by rustic (we live in a post and beam) so the idea of staying in a "Gone with the Wind" style mansion is what we would prefer. Have a wonderful trip!:cool1:

POR is our family favorite for all the reasons mentioned and two more.

The boat to DTD is a nice trip...longer but it's a nice ride down the river.

Another bonus to POR is the food court...it provides a nice variety of choices for all meals. Check out the create your own pasta...it's enough for two!

I stayed in POR in 2005. I wanted the Magnolia section but it was full. AB is close to food court and the main bus stop.

The only complaint about AB section was that my husband was the headboards. He likes to lay on the bed proped up to the headboard. The AB headboards have slats in them the Magnolia's don't.

We just returned from POR last week. We had requested a Magnolia building but were put in Aligator Bayou Bldg 18 - and ended up loving the location. I think, for us, Magnolia would have been too far from the food court/lobby, etc.

Yes, there is a handful of tables outside of the foodcourt (by the marina). We never sat there, but did see them when walking by.

POR is a beautiful resort - we loved it. Here are a few pics of the Aligator Bayou section.

We stayed at POR last August in the AB section and we loved it with all the lush surroundings. I didn't think I would like it but after we got there it was like being in heaven. It was beautiful and quiet. The picture that was just posted is the same view we had except we were on the other side of the pool in building 16 (I think that is 16 that you can see in the picture). I loved it and we will stay there again for our next trip!

We've stayed at POR 2 x.

The 1st was in the mansions and the 2nd was in AB.

We hated our first stay and LOVED our 2nd.

The mansion area was so run down (stained curtains (looked like blood), candy wrappers on the floor, pine cones under the bed (just proving it wasn't well cleaned, chipped paint, carts and trash left out, etc). I had posted tons of pictures after that March 06 stay.

I also just didn't care for that area of the hotel. It reminded me of a nursing home.

When we returned in March of 07 we took my parents. My mother REALLY wanted to stay at POR so I did. I requested AB and had a much much better experience.

At the time of my awful stay there were a lot of similiar posts and I think POR has really improved since then. I loved it on our last trip.

This was the view from our building in AB. It really is a beautiful resort.

if you need more than 2 beds, only the AB section have availability for a trundle bed as well as 2 double beds.

We really did not like the Mansions so I'd suggest AB.

We stayed in the AB section. WE loved it being near the food court and bus stop. We loved being near the river and watching the ducks in the morning. This is our only trip so I cannot compare the magnolia section. It is not as close to the dining and bus stop as we were. The buildings were beautiful they looked like the old south. You will enjoy your stay. Nice and quiet atmosphere.

I stayed at POR last May and LOVED this resort! Here's a link to my web page with my pictures and comments from that trip: http://www.brownfamilyvacations.com/html/POR2007.htm

WOW, I am so impressed.:worship: These pics have me so excited. We will be staying there for the 1st time in December. You did such a great job capturing all of those "little" details that I was so curious about, and that are so helpful. The resort, food court, rooms, and grounds all look beautiful. Thank you so much for taking the time to take such prefect pics of this resort. I hope they are on the "Everything you need to know about POR" thread. :cool1:

Us too. Great pictures. I can't wait and now I think that I might want to stay in AB.

We were in AB last June and loved it....we had a corner room, so here is the view from our room one way

I love the pictures - I just wish people would post some up of views from MB so I can know a little bit of what to expect!!

Our family loves this resort! In fact, we love it so much it is the only place we stay at!

As already answered there is outdoor seating, not a whole lot but the tables are almost always empty since it is so HOT after a day at the parks.

We prefer Alligator Bayou and would suggest either building 14 or 15. We love it for the scenery and the short distance to the busses, food court, and pools. Not to mention the short path to the Downtown Disney RiverBoat.

I STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHEN WE WILL GET TO GO BACK BUT I WANT TO STAY MEDERATE AND I WAS THINKING ABOUT POR AND I WOULD ASK THAT YOU PLEASE KEEP THE PICTURES COMING. I LOVE IT.:thumbsup2
