What's the weather like during mid-March? We've only been during the summer. Is it warm enough to swim? We're from Texas, so we're used to warm weather.

Just booked at POR the other day for March:)

We swim in January, but were also from the north and leave 20-30° weather.

I've searched the thread but haven't found the answer to my question.

We are a family of 6. 2 adults, 11yo, 10yo, 9yo, 2 yo. I was thinking of booking at POR for our May trip.

What I am wondering is how tight it really will be with 6 in the room. The 2yo will sleep with me and DH. He already smashes himself into our queen bed here at home so there won't be the issue of needing a pack and play. My daughters don't mind sleeping together either. I'm more concerned about storing our luggage and a stroller.

It will save us around $800 over staying at AOA suites and that's a lot of money for our family.

Please give me your advice :)

Doable, but your instinct is good in thinking it will be tight. It sure will. I assume since you have one under three that's a crib, allowing you to get the sixth person in there.

Doable for sure.. We parked our stroller by the door and luggage in the hanging area. Good idea is to buy those hanging shelves made out of material for more storage for clothes that was our only issue. Non-issue for me tho, totally worth the savings.

Thanks for the info! One more question. Is there room under the beds for luggage also?

We usually have 3 adults and 2 children (5 & 6) in our room. We drive so we pack in lg utility totes from 31 instead of luggage. Those we put on the floor under the rod to put dirty clothes in We use the hanging organizers ( we have 3) in the closet area for extra storage and collapsible bins from the $ store on the shelf. The double stroller is parked beside the door. We seem to have plenty of space. Your not in the room much anyways. I wouldn't even think twice about switching to save money.

This thread is so helpful! I'm almost ready to book but I'm wondering if it is worth paying around $300 more for a preferred room? I'm comparing standard vs. preferred in pricing. I assumed garden view is around the same distance as standard view, so I hope that is correct.

I would pay for the preferred location. I didn't for my stay this past December, and I really wish I would have. It was quite the hike to the front and the food court and gift shop.

I am, because I'm going out there for the PHM weekend. I will be going out to catch the bus at 3am for 3 mornings in a row, so I thought I might like to be close!

$300? Is that for multiple rooms? Were staying 8 nights and it's just over $100 extra for one room for preferred.

When I price out packages for the first week of May it gives me a difference of $275.55 between standard and preferred rooms. Maybe I should call instead? This is for 1 room.

How many nights? Were going in January, but when we went in oct it was only $100 more for preferred on 7 nights.

We just got back last week , 8 nights and we were in AB building 26 (non preferred). It was about a 5 min. Walk to food court etc.

Expected arrival/departure times, choose from corner room, second floor, ground floor, highest floor, and you are able to select if early check-in is your highest priority. Not very specific requests. We plan to fax over more specific requests about a week before arrival. There is a fax template for that purpose around here somewhere.

Does anyone know if you can still do this if you booked with a military discount? I got the impression while booking that military discounts booked very specific rooms, but I could have been wrong. Also-the doors to rooms aren't private, right? They face the outdoors? Because that's a factor if I get to select ground floor or higher up.

Can anyone say how far the royal rooms are from say, the dining area? I've heard conflicting reports. I've heard they are all a ways away, and I've heard that pool view royal rooms are pretty close. Thanks!

If you request and get Oak Manor near the bridge you will be very close to the food court and restaurant.
