I have a question about buses. I have read all of the information on portorleans.org and I think I understand the routing.

But here is my question...We are traveling with my parents and my in-laws and will have at least one, possibly two ECV's that come back to the resort with us. We are staying in Royal Rooms, which puts us near the East or South depot.

So, if we are at possibly the last stop before the park, will there be room for an ECV? How will they get the ECV on if they have already picked up at West and North? Would it be in our best interest to just walk to West when we are going to Magic Kingdom and South when we are going to other parks to make sure that the ECV will have space?

Any advice would be appreciated. This is our first time at POR and my mother and MIL are already a little bit nervous about needing the ECV's. I would hate for there to be a huge bus issue to make them uncomfortable or embarrassed.

Also, If and when the October specials for January are released. Am I in a better position of qualifying for the HOPEFULLY room rate discount because I have a higher the Standard View, Garden View Room Category?? Any help is appreciated.

I have gotten the discount twice after booking rack rate at Poly. I've haven't stayed at POR yet. We always book a standard view, and I've never had any problems just calling WDW and asking for the discounted rate. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be the same at POR. You might get more of a discount in a more expensive room, but in the end, it will still be a more expensive room. Unless you wait so long, that the discounts for standard view rooms are gone. Just do it as soon as the discount becomes available.

I need some advice.
We've only stayed at WL the five times we've been to Disney. My son who is 19 has convinced his two friends (same age) to take a WDW trip instead of a beach trip May 10-17. Neither of these boys have been to Disney before. They are already having a hard time wrapping their heads around the amount of money the pkg cost because they don't fully understand that this includes EVERYTHING. The limit they set was $1400 each. They wanted or stay at AOA but it's way too pricey. They insist on having separate beds.
I suggested POR in AB. That has come to exactly $1400 each.
The concern is the Murphy bed. Have any of you slept on it as an adult, or is it mainly for children? I don't want this to be a bad first impression based on a bad sleeping arrangement. We want them to love Disney like we do.
Input and suggestions please!!

It depends upon their size and sleeping habits. My DD16 is 5'4", 102 lbs., and doesn't move much while sleeping. She was very comfortable on the Murphy bed. DS12 at 4'9" and 80 lbs. is a wild sleeper and couldn't even manage a full night on it without nearly falling off.

Is the price discounted? If not, wait to book and they may be able to get AOA for a better price.

We are a family of 5 and I was told we would probably be given a room with the small Murphy bed type bed. It is not needed for my family, my kids are on the small side, but I understand the rules. My question is what is the storage situation in these rooms for clothes and suit cases? I apologize for asking if this has been answered before I am not thru reading this thread.

The online reservations clearly states the room fits up to 5 adults. Why do they say that if the pullout bed measures 63 inches, which is what the cm told me in the chat?

It depends on the size of the adult. The fold down bed is only a bit smaller larger than a crib. I've seen them first hand, and there is no way I would put an adult on them. If there is any thought that it is too small, I would bring along an air mattress.

As far as storage goes, the fold down took up some of that. It is workable, but you need to be very organized. I know that many people bring those hanging cubes, and hook them over the hanger bar and use them for storage.

Views in North wing of Parterre and South of Oak are fairly similar. The North wing of Oak is nice though, looks over the riverboat dock and lots to see going on. That was where I chose for my Royal Room stay anyway (a little bit more of a walk though, but not bad):

The Alligator Bayou rooms can accommodate five people, but rather like rooms with sofa-beds, etc, they can't all be tall adults. The rooms are more aimed at families beyond two adults, two kids really.

If you want to put five adults in one room you can, but you need to be aware of the limitations of the murphy bed.
