We arrived, and found that the OL check-in line had 3 or 4 people while the regular check-in line had 10-15 people.
...
I hear you need to fax 1st, than do online check-in later. (did I see that on Andre's site?)

It's also worth remembering that Online checkins are much quicker to process for the front desk cast members, so even if the regular line has less people in it, the Online checkin queue will probably move quicker anyway. Think of it like a FastPass. :)

If you are going to fax, I always suggest doing the Online Checkin part FIRST (up to 60 days out if you wish) and then send your fax 3-5 days out.

Andre

Getting very excited, down to 3 days!!! :cool1:

Our flight lands at MCO at 1:09pm - if we land on time and there are no unforeseen delay's, when do you think we'll be at the hotel? We are hoping to hit DTD and not make it too late of a night.

Edited to add: We are also taking MDE!!

So funny that you said this. As we approached the much shorter online check-in line, my 7 year old daughter asked "Mom, do we have a fastpass for this?"

I was just going to ask the same question. Our flight lands at 10:30 am. We are using DME. About how long until we arrive at POR?

We are very excited! We will be arriving at POR in 30 days for our very first stay. (We've stayed at Coronado Springs on our past two trips.) I'm not picky about a specific room or area, and family is all in good walking shape. That being said, should I make any specific room requests or anything? I'm pretty sure we will just be happy to be there, regardless of what area.

Hi y'all! :wave2:

I just booked a quick weekend stay at PO-R for my mother, daughter and I. DD is an all-star cheerleader and wanted to see some of the Summit cheer competition at WWoS this weekend, so why not go to WDW, too?! We stayed at PO-R 12 years ago, and I can't wait to go back to see how it's changed over the years. Only 3 days to go! :goodvibes

I'm such an idiot, I put off renting a stroller and now all companies are sold out for this coming week. The guy at Orlando stroller suggested calling there hotel to see if they happened to have any that were left behind. I did that and the bell hop said no. Any other suggestions? I can't believe it, I walked a double but now I just want a single!

With the standard rooms at POR being booked up already, I am getting a little worried about what the crowds will be like the last week of October. :worried:

I know there is a huge conference going on October 25-28 where the projected attendance is 22,000 (that does not include family members of the attendees).

Also, it is speculated (although apparently from a very reliable source) that FD will also be that week of the 26-1.

In your opinions, should we consider visiting the week before instead?

Thanks for your input/opinions ~ I'm getting all stressed out over this and I just need to get all the info I can to make an informed decision. :confused3

We are also booked the last week of November. I chose those dates specifically to avoid fall breaks and hopefully qualify for free dining--but mostly to avoid the major crowds. Sigh.

What is the conference going on that week? I didn't know about it.

It's the IACP (or something like that). It's for Police Chiefs. I called the Orlando Convention Center and they told me 22,000 attendees. If everyone has a family of 4, that's an additional 88,000+ people  I read that the daily total attendance at WDW is 44,000. I can't even imagine what the crowds might be like with potentially 88,000 more :crazy2:

I checked and 2013 attendance for the IACP conf. was under 14,000 so 22,000 seems a little overstated. Plus I find it hard to believe that they would all bring families with them. I was at a conference a few weeks ago at Gaylord Palms and there were not many people that had brought family in with them. If they did it was the weekend before or the weekend after and only for a couple of days. :confused3

Figure on 70-90 minutes from the time you land until you get to your resort.

Hi! I just can't decide if I want to do online check-in. Is the line always shorter/quicker, and if not, can you still go to a regular line? I assume there are more "regular" lines. How much time does this save? Sorry if this sounds obsessive, I tend to over analyze!:)

The line isn't always shorter. But I can tell you either way if you do Online, which I suggest, and a CM that is over near regular check in becomes free they will come get you to help you over at their area. So you wont wait long regardless.

Oh and by your screen name do you live in VA?

I think the online check-in makes the process much quicker, because everything is pre-printed and packaged for you into a little portfolio. They simply check your ID, verify your info, issue any buttons, hand you the packet, and off you go! I'm sure there are plenty of exceptions, especially when someone does an online check-in and then wants to make changes, but my experience so far has been very good.
