Can someone please compare the size of POR to CSR? We are planning on staying at POR in October but all these room request questions are making me a little nervous. We stayed at CSR last year and found it too large for our family- not so much in the walking, but just the atmosphere. Thanks so much.

So excited I will be staying at POR for the first time in 11 DAYS!! I have my fax ready to send next week.

Due to an injured toe (currently under a Docters care) I'm requesting building 85 closest to the foot bridge since it does not look too far from the food court. We have a garden view room.

I love the look of the Mansions. Hoping we get our request.

We are from LA and stayed at POFQ last year and my DD and I were so excited about the beignets. I will tell you if you've had the real thing you may be disappointed in the beignets at POFQ. We were. Nothing like the ones from Cafe Du Monde.

It didn't take much arm twisting. I am officially booked in a Royal room in September. The theming is so fantastic, so I couldn't pass it up. My 2 year old is going to love it! My DH and I are both from Louisiana originally, so it will make us feel like home. I'm pretty sure we're going to have to take a walk over to POFQ for some beignets one morning. Now September needs to hurry up and get here.

Thanks for your input guys!!

Awe man. We may skip them if they aren't very good. I kinda want my son's first beignets to be from Cafe Du Monde anyway. We don't live anywhere near LA, but we've been trying to plan a trip to NO during football season. Just waiting on the schedule to be released.

It wouldn't be the same without chicory coffee, anyway, right?

I've finally decided to book POR for our daughters (5 & 7)! We will being going November 15-22!! It's basically my first trip too, I was there when I was 1 and only got to enjoy 1 day at MK when I was 19. We are keeping it a surprise till the day we leave. Looking for any advice, tips, tricks, good dining recommendations etc to make our trip awesome!! Of course any advice on rooms too, would like to close to the main buildings, etc, as to not have to walk as far, my in-laws will be going too.

I am going to give some advice on surprising them. It is rarely like in the commercials. My advice would be a couple of weeks before let them know they are going on vacation but don't tell them where. Just like adults kids can feel overwhelmed with suddenly going on vacation without any warning. The only time surprising my kids worked well was when I told my 6 year old we were going to visit her aunt. She knew that was a long drive so she didn't realize we were in the car longer than normal. She found out when we pulled through the gates where we were really going. For restaurant advice for 2 girls that age I would take them to either Cinderella royal table or Akershus for a character meal. Both are princess meals. Use these boards and get as much info as you can about the parks. Since you are surprising them you won't know what their must do 's are but research weekday you think they will like best and plan accordingly.

1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian has cinderella, prince charming and the evil step mother and her 2 evil step sisters. Its buffet...my daughter is a very picky eater and we have better luck getting her to eat at buffet type places.

As for surprises be careful with that because it can backfire. A month before we were going to disney I made a count down calendar with disney stickers and gave it to my daughter and told her "suprised we are going to disney" Kids are different so plan according to how you think your kids are gonna react.

No they aren't like the ones in NOLA, but come on! Fried dough and sugar! YUM! :rotfl2::joker:

I think with the surprise, they will love it. They keep asking when we are going to go on an airplane, to Florida, Disney, etc. if anything I will tell them the night before to help them prepare, but we often have surprises for them and they get sooo excited.

We are staying at POR in May and have and ADR at Crystal Palace one morning, what is the earliest the buses run to Magic Kingdom (9am opening that day) and do we take a magic kingdom bus or character meal bus? Thank you :thumbsup2

Buses start rolling at 6:30am. You'll take the Magic Kingdom bus.

When are you going? Thinking of switching to the royal rooms, hoping there available the time we go! Congrats!

I'm going late September. There were plenty availability when I called. I think the fact that most sites list the buildings they are in as inconvenient and more expensive keeps people from booking them. Good luck getting yours!

Sorry! I would wait for the real thing.
