........Well you can always request Parterre and ask to be in the section closest to the foot bridge to the main building. That would put you in the area closest to that and the East Depot which is the closest bus depot besides the preferable South Depot (Main Building's Bus Depot) which I never have a problem getting on a bus there.

To Venom......So you think the work at Oak Manor is enough of a reason to request another building?

As to reason or not, well that comes down to personal preference it is not that they work over night or anything so you wont have to hear any work at night.

Thanks..........have a few days to think about it before I send the fax. Really appreciate all the advice and information you have provided on this board.

How is the storage situation in the rooms? Especially the ones with the murphy bed? It doesn't look like many drawers or cabinets. There's 5 of us staying 9 nights so we will unpack everything. Anyone have any suggestions on storage? Thanks!!

Is all of Oak Manor under construction? I saw pictures of the fence around a portion of the building, was curious if this around all of Oak Manor? Trying to decide our room location for our upcoming trip in 10 days. Thank you!

Well, storage is at a bit of a premium for 5 people. I think there are like 4-6 drawers and then in the sink area there is a shelf with a bar to hang things. This may help to take along and since it is no bigger than a notebook folded up, it may help you:

I LOVE these things!! I packed the kids clothes by day into each of those sections and then put that in the suit case. It was so easy to just pull it out and hang it.

We will be checking in to POR on the 26th and I have a couple of questions. I just realized that we have luggage tags for the cruise portion of our trip but not the land portion. Should we have gotten them from POR? We are not using DME. Also, what time do the pools close? TIA

Well I agree on using these. There really isn't much use of the drawers under the murphy bed. Especially if you are using the bed a lot. We usually fold down the bed if there is only 3 or 4 guests in there and use the bed to hold the suitcases laid out on it. But If you have someone sleeping there then the hanging shelves. But you do lose a little hanger space, but not much.

Brilliant!

Do they still have a folding luggage rack in the rooms?

Bump-Anyone?

I just read on another thread, some guests who prefer not to have their room cleaned put out the do not disturb sign and mousekeeping leaves a "bag of goodies" with clean towels, soap etc. Does this happen at POR?

They have done this for us many times. :-)

If you aren't using DME you shouldn't need luggage tags for anything. As for the pools, the main feature pool on Old Man Island is open 9am until 11pm (9am—-9pm off-season) and they now enforce the closing time. The quiet pools are still open 24 hours but have no lifeguards. Enjoy your trips! :thumbsup2

Thank you. I was packing and found the tags for our cruise and it made me wonder if we had missed them from POR. :goodvibes

I've recently seen conflicting info and wondered if any of you knew the actual truth.......we are booked for Dec 6 -13. I see that pop warner is the same week. Is there going to be a blackout for free dining during this week? I've seen it posted as was blacked out in past and not blacked out....would really like free dining during our trip.
