A couple of weeks ago they were still the in wall hair dryers. I'm lucky that I can let my hair dry overnight. The hair dryers are the ones that tend to eat my hair.

That's a shame! Oh well... hopefully they'll replace all of the hair dryers eventually. Thanks for getting back to me!

I read on the recent AMA with a Disney travel agent that often both Port Orleans hotels are not included in discounts that Disney offers. How often is Riverside not included? I'm hoping for a discount for my first trip to this hotel in mid-April, and this is making me a bit nervous that it might not work out.

POR was included in the "winter" discount that just came out. I believe the discount prior however, maybe it was free dining leading up to Christmas, POR was not included.

I have sent it!!! Thank you!!!

OK EVERYONE ....the boats...can we get on at POR and get off at POR-FQ?

ANd how late do the boats go round trip to Downtown Disney? Thank you!:cheer2:

On it and replied.

Yes you can resort hop between via boat.

I believe 10:30p is the last boat back to the resorts from DTD, but if your late buses still run.

Last February, the last boat was at 11PM. The driver told us 1000 times between POR and DTD. It became our running joke for the week so that time is drilled in my brain.

For those of you that are just back or are there right now, how have the busses been? Have you experienced long waits to/from the parks? Have the busses been overcrowded? Have you had to share a lot with POFQ?

They weren't too bad. We were just there last week. I know buses from DTD back to POR share to drop off at both POR and POFQ, but go to all the POR spots first starting at the West Depot first going clockwise.

We were there Oct 10-15. I had about the polar opposite experience as Venomhatch.

The majority of the buses were pretty crowded. It was a running joke with my family that when you are leaving a park you didn't need to know what # station to be at for the Riverside resort because you could just look for the large crowd.
I understand that RS and FQ share buses. I'm sure that makes sense. But something just doesn't make sense. Leaving MK the Riverside station had a ton of people waiting while the FQ station had zero. And the driver was there so we walked over to ask him if he could go to RS. Of course, he said no.
So, we waited... and waited. First bus was full so we got on the second. And wouldn't you know it, it went through FQ.

Another time, the Riverside but went to FQ first (forget what park we were coming from) and the driver didn't announce where we were. It was dark and I had no idea. One of the passengers mentioned it was South so we got off. We were at FQ. Now, someone else mentioned a nice 10 minute stroll to get to RS. At 11PM with 2 tired kids and a hungry wife in the dark not knowing exactly how to get to RS, I was ticked.
Of course, we stayed at FQ yars ago so I remembered the boat. It got us to RS but at least 30 minutes later than we should have. Now, i fully understand this was partially bad info from another person on the bus but the driver should have made the announcement himself.

Question about the boats at POR, can I bring a stroller on or do I have to take our baby out and collapse it? Thanks.

They had parents remove the children from the stroller and store the stroller at the front of the boat.

POR is our favorite resort and we will be spending 2 weeks there over Christmas and New Years! :santa:

My question is: We will be staying in the AB section and have a preferred room booked (only because it was the only room type available). I was wondering what requests I should make for building number that will be closest to the food court? I know we want lower level as we have children in a stroller and one with mobility issues.

I cant wait to be back at POR! Its been a while and we are so excited!

Thanks for any help!

Bldg 14.

We have a preferred room booked. Can anyone else give me their preferred room experiences. Was it worth it just to be closer to the main buildings? Do you get picked up first for buses? etc...

Building 14 is right next to the food court, (very short walk) we've stayed there & in building 18 & love both, we were ground floor in 18 & 2nd floor in 14. Love the closeness to the food court & main bus stop but also loved the quiet pool being right there at building 18. Nothing including the main pool & the campfire etc were too far away. The movies are across the bridge in the mansions section.

Buildings 14 & 18 fall under the "Preferred" room category(14,15,18 & 27) that you would have to upgrade to at a higher rate. Here is a site that has tons of info on POR/POFQ.

From an ex-Michigander:)

Buzznina, I see your an ex Michigander. I'm a yooper and my best friend ( also a yooper from childhood) lives in Niceville 10 min. From the beach. Small world.

Has anyone stayed in a royal room? My TA found a discount for us if we moved to one so I went with it. Just wondering the proximity to the main building.
