Does anyone know if the laundry rooms at POR have machines to exchange dollar bills for quarters? Or should I plan on bringing a supply of quarters if I want to do laundry?

Also, how many plugs are there are in each room? One of the best packing tips I've seen anywhere is to bring a power strip (cameras, phones, kindles, ipads, oh my), but I'm curious about the number of wall plugs.

Thanks!!

Hey all! We're going to POR for our first stay in November and are super excited! The kids want to know all about the waterside, but I can't seem to find any pictures of the layout or photos from the top looking down at all. The only view I can find is the mouth of the slide and the kids are slightly underwhelmed with my lack of better info! LOL. I've scoured the photo thread and thought I'd as here I anyone knows of a better picture or if you're there could snap a picture for me? I would greatly appreciate it!

There are a couple videos on youtube (hope it's okay to post the link!)

My kids are looking forward to it!

I'm having car seats shipped to PO that should be arriving 3 days before our stay. Do I need to call someone to let them know? What is the usual protocol for things like this? 1st timers :)

Yes, there is a change machine in the laundry room.

I always pack a power strip so the electronics are in one place, in plain view. Much easier not to forget something that way!

HTH!

We are arriving at POR on 9/1, we are super excited. Can anyone tell me if they sell boxes of donuts in the gift shop? I am wondering if we should just purchase a few breakfast items (we always have an early lunch) and just need to put something in our stomachs in the am. Do they also have 1/2 gal. of milk in the gift shop? Thanks for any help.

We arrive on 9/1 also!! Our first stay at POR. We can't wait! :goodvibes

Not that this is a countdown thread... but I leave in about 7 hours, should be at POR around 7pm on Wednesday. I really should get to bed and get some sleep!

Yeah that is what my Port Orleans Dates Thread is for!

8/13-20th Royal Room for me I can't wait. Also thanks to all the posters on here. I learned a lot and reading the posts here made me that much more excited.

Hi POR lovers! I can really use your help. I had my heart set on POFQ over Thanksgiving but it looks like it won't be included in the FD promo. So the cost without a discount would be 4800 total (including tix and food) which is insane for a mod. POR Royal Room Pool View would be 3994 w FD, and POR Royal Room Garden View would be 3811. Regular River view room would be 3710. Or I can do WL and Swan Split stay for 3490 or 4082 depending on how many nights I stay at WL vs Swan.

I really want to stay in 1 resort and not do a split stay and I keep going back and forth. So convince me POR is awesome and it won't be excessive walking with the room categories mentioned. I thought I made up my mind to forget about POR but something is pulling me back in!

The Royal pool view rooms all have pretty easy access to the bridge to get to the main building, and all the river view rooms are pretty convenient to everything too. Even if you went with Royal garden view, I think you'd be surprised. It's not as spread out as some make it out to be. The most remote rooms are all in AB, which aren't in any of your options. (A river view room might be in AB, but you would be guaranteed to be close in, possibly in the the two preferred buildings.)

For a savings of roughly $1000, I would definitely switch!

Thanks for the info! It will actually cost the same to stay 9 nights at POR as it would to do 6 nights at WL and 3 at the Swan/Dolphin. So I am not sure which would be better. I love WL and have never stayed at POR or Dolphin.
