Cold here too. Can't wait for my first ever por trip jan 21-27th!!! We are gardenview royal rooms. I saw something about construction though?

A few questions before making my final resort decision:
1. What are the walking distances around? ie....from a RR to the pool, dining and to POFQ
2. I think I understand the bussing...somewhat...but would it be better to walk/drive to the South bus stop?
3. Which one POR or FQ has the best dining?

Best dining IMO is POR. There is a table service restaurant and a counter service with lots of variety.

thank you! We usually have dinner at the resort after a day in the parks and before going back to a park . 9 times out of 10 we have breakfast in a park (you know...to be there when parks open)
And since my dd is a very picky eater, I have to make sure that chicken nuggets are available and I'm assuming that if their available for adults then they must be available for kids...right?

So excited - I called Disney last night to modify my reservation a bit. I'm going to stay at POR for 5 nights next Sept-Oct., then transfer to YC for 2 nights. The CM on the phone was so nice and helpful. I also changed from a river view to a garden view to save some money since I'm splurging with the 2 nights at YC. I requested a mansion room, and I mentioned that I'd be celebrating my birthday - she asked permission to add that to my reservation and said they will want to celebrate me. And she said that she loves POR (this will be my first time staying there). I can't wait!!!

Thanks for your quick answer.... if your daughter was ok, then one of my twins should be ok too, thanks! They are about 5'1 - but the pictures of the Murphy beds that I have looked at did not look big enough to fit a child that big!!! I trust you!!! That is great news.... We are also driving and can bring an inflatable mattress too, so it is nice to know it is allowed, if necessary.

FWIW- I am 40+ yrs old and 5'4" and 105lbs and I slept on the Murphy bed one night. It was perfectly fine even for me.

Hi everyone!

We just booked our POR trip and we'll be there in just two weeks! (1/15 - 1/20). I was able to book using a pin for free dining (our first time using the DDP). The only rooms still available with this pin were the new Royal Guestrooms. We have one facing a pool. Anyone have any good suggestions for rooms to ask for (if I call and request)?

I saw something when reading the info at the very beginning of this post that made me happy.... Note: the food court now serves Joffrey's coffee, not Nescafe. Umm YAY, anything is better than Nescafe! Woot.

The last time we stayed at POR is 2004, so is there anything really different that we should know about? We're excited about using the boat to go to DTD (not sure why not, but the two other times we've stayed at POR, we did not take advantage of that feature).

Also, I looked at tons of pics of the resort and I can't wait to just walk around and take a million pics. WOW! It looks more beautiful than I remember.
