Thanks! I'll PM you when I have pics!

Ok sounds like a plan!

I live locally and love Publix. Clean stores and great customer service.

Yeah definitely Publix.

I'll be arriving on Saturday after you Mulan! Hey, does anyone know if there is any sort of cooler drop for people who are leaving for people coming in?

No not that I know of. Just people on here timing out to leave items for them when their trips overlap the last/first day.

As a lurker, I just wanted to thank everyone for all of the up to the minute planning info for POR. We check in Tuesday 11/12 for our 10th anniversary trip (no kids) :cool1: Even though we are not putting in a room request, we're good no matter where are, we definitely feel more prepared!

It's really concerning hearing people not getting the refrigerators they requested. I take medication daily that requires refrigeration and we are also traveling with a baby and need a fridge for her milk :(.

If it's a genuine medical need then they will sort you out, that's why general requests are getting lower priority.

If there isn't a fridge there when you get to the room, just ask the front desk to arrange one for you (it's hard for them to be 100% sure in advance of your arrival at the room, as they are constantly moving the working fridges around to try to accommodate requests).

Our 20th anniversary will be in 2015. My DH has mentioned Disney for just the two of us, but I just can't go without the kids (Ds 14, DD 7). I wish I didn't feel so guilty!

And they carry Indian River OJ! :goodvibes I'm not in Florida till I have my Indian River!! They also have a decent Key Lime pie ::yes:: so upset Ale House took it off the menu.

If you've already taken the kids at least once, I'd say go, just the two of you, and enjoy the romance of POR. It is so beautiful to stroll hand-in-hand through the paths and over the bridges at night with the lights reflecting on the water. We did for our 30th.

Do it for the kids. The greatest gift you can give them is a good relationship with the two of you. You need your time together alone and Disney is great for this. And it's your anniversary. The 20th!! Give the kids something special and fun before you go, or when you return, and give them Disney at another time, but GO! You won't regret it.
:yay:

I forgot to ask when Christmas decorations are going up at the resort. I just pictures of MK with decorations slowly going up....

A huge thank you to Andre and Venom who have helped me tremendously in the planning of our trip.

Ahh:cool2: already looking forward to being back at this resort and remembering fondly this exact kind of generous help I received before our last vacation here. :flower3::flower3:

My DD8 and I are simply stopping overnight to await my DH and DS10 who are driving the whole way down as we girls get spoiled by a flight to come in a day early and not have to take so much time with travel (I admit, I am not so good at the long car rides anymore! and to be honest have a wonderful DH who tries to be accommodating when he can)

Anywho, just happened to be reading through the thread and saw this comment and it certainly made me smile broadly with fond memories!

Don't feel too bad for us though, we will be picked up to drive the short distance to Port Canaveral to catch our ship to the Eastern Caribbean for a full week on the Fantasy. :yay:

Trying to catch up with all the changes and wondering what I should concern myself with for a stay from noon the first day as I get off the magical express bus to afternoon of the next day when the DH gets into town to pick us up. Just know I have to try a new mug out though! And DD8 will want to swim at POR and POFQ in her short little stay. I'll be lucky to catch the ferry for a tiny bit of shopping in DTD! Might have to just stay at the resort!

What do either of you guys think about my sending a fax with a room request for one night (it's a Thursday in off season (January). I did book a handicap room this time just for the bars in bathroom as they make me feel more secure and I am still unable to walk very far? And I will be alone except a small child? I'm sure I will be fine just trying to think of these things ahead and not leave much to chance ya know?

I'll be lurking around here until I get all caught up when I'm not in cruise mode for planning.
PM me if you want to make a suggestion in Magnolia Bend?

Thank you Thank you Thank you! goodvibes

We booked a royal room, having never stayed at POR before is there a preferred area for the royal room, like floor, building, etc? We have a garden view

Venom- I've written a draft of my fax and was curious if I could send it to you to get your opinion? Thank you!

I'm sure this is not right place to ask this but here goes!! While we are at POR in Feb we will be going to Downtown Disney one day. We have been to store there and bought bags of Potato Head pieces. We want to go to the Lego store this trip. Can you buy individual pieces of Legos like you can potato head pieces? Is there a deal there of filling bag for certain price? Thanks for any info. Particularly how to best do it!!

Happy Friday Venom,

We arrive at POR on 11/16 and I've developed my fax request. I know you get a lot of requests to preview these to make sure they are clearly written - may I trouble you to proof mine? If we arrive Saturday 11/16, when should I fax over? Tuesday? Wednesday?

Thanks -this thread has really helped me plan our family trip!

Yes you can. There is a hard plastic round container that is a certain price for it no matter how many pieces you can get in there. And they have just about any type of Lego piece you could think of. I'm sorry I don't remember the price. Probably way too much.:scared1:
