the AB section looks great and you could totally request a building like 14 or something close to the main area. I don't think it's just for families of 5, we just prefer the mansion area especially Magnolia Terrace.

I am staying in a standard view Royal Guest Room at the end of January. I'm very confused as to what room requests to make. It will be my husband and I plus dd(6) and ds(10). We will have our own car. We don't have any mobility issues, although kids aren't crazy about doing too much walking. I'm a fairly light sleeper. Any suggestions? I was leaning toward building 90 but I'm concerned about the construction. Maybe it won't be that big a deal?

In all the research I've doing over the last few months, I came across a page where you could plug in the room number and it would show you what your view would be. You also could put in the category room you purchased and it would highlight on the map all the room number choices you have for that category. Does anyone know the link to that web page? I can't seem to find it. I assumed it was on Andre's site but I can't figure out where. Thanks.

It's on touringplans.com, they've done a great job with this resource. For POR see touringplans.com/hotel_maps/disneys-port-orleans-resort-riverside

Andre

I LOVE this board! I've learned so much and am so excited! Our trip is March 2-8. Our friends are coming too, since we had a free dining code. :) My daughter's birthday is March 6, she'll be turning 5 in Disney! My husband's birthday is also that day. We'll be having dinner with the princesses that evening.

We've never stayed on site before and I am so excited for this! I've only been to Disney twice, and stayed at a family friend's in Kissimmee.

I'd love advice from Venom and Andre on requests for our group!

Ok, this may be a bit complicated to explain.

Room1 - Me, DH, DD4, DS1 (our first time staying on site!)
Room2 - Haley, Nick, DD9, DS7, DS5 (their first trip)
Room3 - Christie, Cameron

We've all booked Garden View rooms. And I guess we'll be in the Aligator Bayou, since Room2 has 5 guests. The 2 rooms with kids will have double strollers. Kids will likely be sleeping or exhausted when we get back to the resort in the evenings, so I'm thinking ground floor? What building would be a good request for our group? We're hoping to have rooms next to each other.

Thank you thank you!!

Still trying to deciden which building to request for a RR Gardenview:confused3 I want to be close to the lobby, pool and as close as possible to the South bus stop (because I'm assuming that you get picked up there before East depot)...right? Any suggestions on rooms?

When are you going because oak will be having the roof changed from mid Jan for 6 months...one wing at a time. We had 9270 and 9269 last May and loved it ( could see the river, but the movies are in your courtyard. Great RRGV. It was very close to the bridge. The only downside is simply that you will not know where in oak they will be working at that time.

We are going Sept 7 - 13.

Why not just request that - you don't have to request a building.

You can't request building 14 unless you book preferred - all rooms in building 14 are preferred.

Maybe off topic, but has anyone on here ever visited during the first week of June? We are booked for October, and we love everything about visiting at that time, but I have been thinking lately that we could do the first week of June instead. Are the crowds crazy? Is it super hot already? Lots of rain?

My husband thinks that I should just be patient and stick with October...but I don't love that the MK closes early on party nights. That really limits what park we go to each day because we don't do park hoppers.

We have been that week in June and also in October. June is definitely fine as long as you have a plan. We like October better for the somewhat cooler temps.

Thanks for the link to the review! Loved seeing all the pics, reading the comments and learning more things (like the bedspreads are gone, but have runners). :thumbsup2

Venom - Are you okay? You've been quiet lately and it has me a little worried.

Josh at www.easywdw.com posted a review of POR today. He has a nice shout-out to Andre at the end.

5 weeks from today I will be checking in to POR!!!

Enjoy your trip! I'll be there on Wed 1/15! :goodvibes

53 days to go here! Super excited about our first trip with DS4 and DH and I's first trip as adults, as well as celebrating my birthday our first full day in Disney.

Touring plans is showing a 'projected' resort level of 1 on the day we arrive - Feb 25th. Unfortunately our party of 3 will be arriving at about 6-6:30PM. I'll be 5 months pregnant at the time of our trip and am really hoping to be in one of the Mansion buildings so we can avoid long walks to food options and bus stops (I also enjoy the look of those rooms to those in AB). I plan to call and have this added manually to our reservation as well as send the fax 5 days out.

My questions are: for relative newbies to the process do you recommend online check in? Do you get more of the 'Disney experience' and CM attention at check in if you just check in normally when you arrive as opposed to online check in? Also is my luck much worse with a late check in as far as room requests go or will the low resort levels and the fax help?

Thanks for your thoughts!

Oh, I'd like to know this, as well- even though we'll be arriving at around 11 am.
