Just a ? about the online checkin....
Is there any area to put in room requests or special needs?
I really don't want to call and do it over the phone, the last time I did the res. agent messed up my reservation, and it took about 5 times calling to get it fixed.......I as supposed to do my online check in next Tuesday.
We will be arriving on a Friday Morning....gonna try to be at hotel by 8am.
We are flying in on a late night Thursday night, staying at the Hyatt in the airport that night, gonna try and be on a DME shuttle by 7-715am.

We've been back home for a couple of weeks, and I already wish I was back in the magic. We had the best time, and really fell in love with POR. We loved it so much, we have already booked for the same week next year. Now it's just the wait. We stayed in the Acadian House, which was perfect! We were on the third row, and about a 4 min walk to the bus stop and a 5 min walk to the pool. We couldn't have hand picked a better room. For those arriving there soon, just know that I am jealous.

According to both the Sept and Oct Activities guides from POR, the Sassagoula Nighttime Jamboree is listed from 5-6:30.
Anyone recently returning know what this is?
What happens during it?
Is it worth attending?

No, there isn't a way to add on special requests with on line check in. I'd just phone. I've always added my requests onto my reservation when I make them- I book by phone, and 99% of the time they've been met.

I think your last experience was a fluke and wouldn't happen again.

Arriving so early, I wouldn't even bother with on-line check in. They won't be busy at that time, and by checking in when you get there, you can talk to the CM about your request. On-line check in, your packet and Keys To The World cards are already made up with your room assignment.

WL is probably my favorite resort..because it doesn't FEEL like I am in Florida..it does feel like I have been transported to the Pacific Northwest!

I forgot about monkey's jumpin on the bed! Yikes!

Yes, and I live in the Pacific NW :rotfl: but still love the theming!

So, this morning I phoned and switched my res for Jan. to WL with the AP rate for a standard view. But we still have our Aug BB offer we booked at POR last Aug for 2012 to look forward to :goodvibes And I love POR in summertime when everything is in full bloom!

If I stay at a moderate, it's always POR. We love the mansion section, and the new rooms are wonderful. And yes, I would miss Yee Haa Bob and the boat to DTD for sure. But WL has the boat to MK :rotfl: I flip flop back & forth between Mod & Deluxe. And I'm kinda missing WL.

There's always POFQ which is really close to POR. We always loved POFQ and this is our first time staying at POR. I can hardly wait. I think I'm going to love it, too. :cool1:

Donna

Sue, if I were you I would choose a mod over a deluxe. For my money the mods offer so much more dollar to dollar. I find the mods have enough to offer to keep you entertained and the money you save could go to something else. Maybe a Photo Pass book? We stayed at POR this past AUG and my only regret was that we did not "stay" at POR we were gone the whole time. This year we are doing two weeks one at POP so we can do the parks rope drop to close and one at a mod to relax hit our two fav parks, go to the water parks, visit DTD and dine.

DJT that is a good idea I never even thought about FQ now I have an even harder list of choices:laughing:. I asked my DD where she would like to stay and she is fine with whatever I decide (great thanks for the input). She's just like me loved POR but is also into trying something new. The more I think about it the more I think POR is home :cloud9:

Stan you are right, POR is wonderful, and I'm very happy there, esp for the price.
But WL just released AP rate and we love it there too, esp in winter. I love the hot tubs in winter, and at WL I just have to go out the side door and into the hot tub ;) At POR I don't like the walk in winter when it's cooler to the hot tub. I also like the WL resort boat that connects you to the other MK resorts for dining options. We have 2 res. at Poly, and 1 at GF.

You'll enjoy relaxing around POR, it is a beautiful resort to explore. Last summer I enjoyed one morning going down to the fishing hole just to sit and enjoy. Also had a great talk with the CM there. He's very informative.

Hi,
I just made reservations here for my 50th birthday (which happens to be Xmas eve) and I am wondering if I should request either AB or MB. I love the outside look of Magnolia Bend, beautiful landscaping, but much preferred the inside look of Alligator Bayou. Does one have an advantage over another? We are 4 people and like a quiet location and I guess that nobody ever wants a very long walk to the central areas, but I don't mind a bit of a walk if it is more quiet.
I am going to request a renovated room, but I think that both sections will have some of these by the end of December.
Thanks for your advice!:)

We just booked a stay at POR in 10/2012 to celebrate our second wedding anniversary! POFQ is one of our favorite resorts (DH's VERY favorite!) but we've never stayed at its 'big sister' resort! We booked a Royal Guest Room which I fell in love with as soon as I saw the pic. Can't wait to explore the grounds! :lovestruc

30 more days until we arrive at POR! And I just called and extended our reservations, adding on two more days. This will be our first time at POR, and we are so excited after reading over this thread. :yay:

I envy you.....35 mins from WDW. I have been trying to convince the fiance to move to Orlando. But yeah we said the same about the Royal Room for our lil one.

I've seen conflicting reports online about a bus to Ft Wilderness (from POR) for Hoop Dee Doo. Allears mentions the bus in their POR fact sheet, but I've seen posts stating there is no transportation. Can anyone confirm which is correct?

The alternate of taking the bus to MK, then the boat to FW seems like a lot of work and a time killer. If there is no bus from the resort, I'm considering taking a cab the 2 miles then the FW bus to Pioneer Hall. I'd rather spend more time at the pool!
