I am sorry if I missed something along the way - do all the rooms in AB now have Queen size beds instead of double beds? If not, which buildings have the Queen beds? We will be there in a month and it would be nice if we have that little bit extra sleeping space :cheer2:

Sorry, none of the AB rooms have Queen beds yet, the first refurbs of AB buildings are due to start mid-October. Two mansion buildings are now complete though - see the info in the FAQ in the first post of this thread for updates.

Thanks....it's only for one night anyways, but after a 20 hour drive to get there one could only hope. :goodvibes

We have the RR booked for April 2012. We have the Riverview room is those rooms on the front of the buildings? And are some of those rooms corner rooms? Thanks!

Yes, I had a corner king bed room in Parterre Place this past year.

Some riverview rooms are on the side though, not all face the river directly.

I have a question about AB building 38. Can anyone tell me if that building has river views? If so, are they good views? Am I asking too much if I ask if anyone has pictures from that building? :flower3: I've requested that building for our March trip. I have lately kind of fallen in love with the river views you guys keep posting here and we are a family of 5 so need AB. I would love a refurbished room with a river view if that is even possible. Thank you for helping!

Yes, building 38 has some nice river-view rooms, although as with most buildings you do need to be aware of the trees which can block some of the views a little. I don't have any pictures looking out, but you can get the idea from this:

Our trip starts next Friday. We have booked two rooms. We would like to request rooms that are connected. We know that it is just a request but would like to try anyway. Does anyone have a suggestion on best connecting rooms in the refurb sections of Acadian or Magnolia? We have always had good luck with our request. Thanks.

Thank you so much Andre. I called reservations and apparently they aren't offering any river view rooms for the free dining offer. Is there a way to put in a request that might get close to the river without the upgrade? From looking at the map at the beginning of the thread, it looks like 38 would be a really good choice for a refurbed room. If I want to request 38 should I not add any more requests?

Thanks so so much for the pic! We've never stayed near the river. It's lovely!

We are coming in for our first POR trip on December 9th on FD. Have not requested river or water views or a preferred room. Family of 5, so we are AB bound.

So - I guess the decision that we are wrestling with.

Request Building 36 - be near a bus stop, but a long way away from everything else - but have a refurbished room!

Request someplace closer to the food court, main pool - but have an older room.

Pro's and cons?

Thanks!

Sorry, must interrupt. :guilty:

I just went over to the unofficial thread and saw the 360 panoramic of the new rooms and OMG! I love them! I was not looking forward to seeing all of that purple, but the soft french blue color and the new curtains - they look lovely!

I now return you to your regularly scheduled thread and I thank you for your indulgence :teeth:

Good heavens! I just read ALL 131 pages! Our next trip to Disney is Jan 2013. I haven't made reservations yet...I'm trying to pace myself!;) I just talked my Mom and Dad into going with us so we will have 8 (Me,DH,Mom, Dad, DS12,DD11,DS10,DS7) on this trip. I really think my Dad would love the theming of CSR, my boys want to stay at CBR, my husband wants ASSp (over my dead body- I'll do any of the other values, I just hate the looks of this one.) But I think we will pobably end up at POR. My Mom, DD and myself will love it here. The real clincher for me was the new Queen beds. 2 "Poohs" (as someone else stated) do not fit in double beds for a week!

Anyway, just wanted to thank everyone for the pictures, especially Andre and KCMike. Also, keep those bus stories coming, especially if you're there in Jan of 2012. The bus situation does scare me a bit. I don't mind waiting 10-15 minutes for a bus. 20 minutes starts getting to be a bit long and at 30 minutes I'd have to consider just driving myself. I'm not wild about standing room only mainly because my parents will be with us. I don't mind it for myself or kids necessarily. (Although I do feel safer with them in seats! At least the three younger ones).

And I do so hope we can stay in the mansions. Not real wild about AB, but those mansions....:cloud9:. What can I say? I'm a Southern girl!

Thanks MK2010.

Something a little different today. Adult order of chicken nuggets. Enjoy.
