When in Sept. will you be there? My DS16, mom and dad will be there from 9/12-9/23, 2012.

I Love Love this Forum....
So excited about our stay at POR starting Oct 2nd!
We have a large party of 27! Yes 27!:thumbsup2
7 Rooms & 27 people.....
Any advice from all you smart DISers?:confused3
I've been making all the ressies & am trying so hard to
make it a wonderful vaction for everyone:scared1:

We have girls ages 3,4,7,12,13,13
Boys 5, 7, 12, 14
Rest are adults!

We are going at the same time! I think you made the first right decision in choosing for POR! There is so much to do there for all ages. The pool area is awesome....cool jets and slide....for the younger kids you can borrow a life vest for the length of stay from the marina so they can freely enjoy it too.

Try the design your own pasta at the food court YUM! And the boat to DTD is a must do too. Yeehaw Bob is a fun show. My kids liked the arcade and renting the water mice as well.

Are all of the reservations linked? That way they will try to get your rooms close(if thats what you want :rotfl: ) The resort is very large!

Just make sure you take some time and really explore and enjoy the resort....it is so pretty and really has so much to offer!

Have fun:goodvibes

Hi Sue

Thanks for the update on the rooms! Looks like it's very hot there today. Hope you have a great time. How long are you staying for?

It's typical Florida August weather, hot, with T-Storms in Afternoon. Hope the Hurricane doesn't decide to come inland. We're at POR for a week, then moving to BC for 5 nights.

T-Mobile Tier II Tech Support Employee here. The T-Mobile network stinks. Trust me. :rotfl2:

Pretty much. I also can't send e mails on my web mail - for some reason it keeps timing out on me, tech support couldn't help me except to say maybe that site isn't supported since I don't have problems viewing web sites :sad2:

Thank you so much for sharing these pictures! I have been checking here often in anticipation of seeing the new standard rooms. POR definitely holds a special place in our hearts and we are very much looking forward to staying there when we return to check out the new additions in FantasyLand!

Pictures as promised. We forgot the nice camera, so the quality isn't the best:

I forgot to get a picture of the Dresser and TV.

A few complaints, all minor:
- The TV was not working, the remote had no batteries and it would not turn on with the buttons on the TV. I called maintenance and they put in some batteries when we were at the park, but the TV still did not turn on. I traced the power cord to behind the mini-fridge. Removing the fridge, I could see the TV's power cord was under the dresser - I had to lift the dresser and pull out the smashed cord, reform it a bit, and plug it in myself. After that, all was good.

- It looked like there was mouse feces (how appropriate) on a part of the shower curtain. This is probably because they were in a storeroom previously.

All in all it was a nice stay that smelled like paint. I'll go again.

I feel bad for all of you down there now. With the hurricane about to send some rain your way.

Hey be glad your down there and having fun. We just got a 5.8 Earthquake here while you were gone.

SO weird! We felt it all the way in NJ. I thought I was imagining things. I work on a busy highway and was thinking 'No way that was an earthquake. That was just a truck passing right? RIGHT?' :rotfl:

And now the hurricane is headed towards us......this has been a heck of a week.

I have to tell you, I live in DE, in Dover, near the AFB and we thought for a second with the 9/11 anniversery coming so close, we thought we had been bombed....:scared1: It was still the most frightening 10 seconds I think I have ever experienced.

It makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck, because I work on the third floor of a four story building and I was headed out to a meeting. I was headed towards the elevator and my best friend stopped me to chat for a couple of minutes, because she is on vacation the rest of the week. We were sitting in her office and a few seconds later it hit. Had I not stopped to chat, I would have been stuck in the elevator, because the fire alarm went off right after it started. I cannot imagine living through my first earthquake ever in an elevator on the third floor of a building. I thank my lucky stars I hesitated; I could have just told her goodbye and run off.

Ugh.

Yeah I live right next to Newport News International Airport, I thought it was a plane had went down. So I rushed outside and looked up, nothing. I was puzzled. Then all the vague reports started coming in. I didn't even know we had a fault line on Eastern US. Last time this happened was 100 years ago on this side of the US.

Yeah I hear ya. I didn't even connect it to 9/11. But I can see where you thought of that because again most people never knew there was a fault line. Now I worry about the hurricane coming for us... The Presidential 747, 757, and 737 all make touch and go's all day long maybe every week here I was worried it might have been one of them.

Just got back from POR. We had a great time & enjoyed the resort much more this time than in previous years. We were in building 14 which was perfect for filling our mugs with coffee every morning. We had the best mousekeeper EVER in all our years going to WDW. We had towel animals & extra supplies & touches that made us feel welcome at the resort. :lovestruc(we tipped every day but I have tipped every day at other resorts too & not have not always received good mousekeeping)

The food court was was manageable for early breakfasts, lunch & dinner. The only time it was a madhouse was around 8-11am (late breakfasts)

Bob Jackson was amazing! I do not know where that man gets his energy. :yay:

Staff was great & friendly. The pool was fun & they now have pool games/trivia & a dance party at the pool. This was started the week we arrived (early Aug). We did see a lot of people filling their mugs with old mugs. :headache:

Any others questions let me know. I am loading some pictures in photobucket today so I will be posting those.
