After our POR stay we were CL at BC, and yes, it sure is nice having breakfast in the lounge. Nothing can compare to that, but we got along just fine having breakfast in our room, or at food court at POR. We bought bagels and creamcheese from grocery store and toasted them at the food court, and had our mugs for coffee, tea, etc.
We were on the dining plan, and at night were so stuffed, we couldn't even think of more snacks. I did keep OJ in room fridge.

Thats what I figured, I could buy stuff for breakfast from GG and I think it was the convenience of knowing we didnt have to worry about that. Thanks for your input! :goodvibes

While the prices are a little steep, if you just need a few days worth, you can take the water taxi over to SSR.

They had cereal, bagels, cream cheese, etc. We did that a few years ago.

We have been home for a week now and my Disney withdrawal isn't getting any better. Probably doesn't help that I am still drawn to this thread and now with every picture I see in my mind I am saying "I was there. I saw that."
And it doesn't help that my ticker shows me how far away from my next trip I really am.:)

Yeah we all know this feeling, trust me.

Truer words were never spoken... ;)

I guess I'm in a minority here, I've been back for a week now and I'm Still on a Disney high! The music that they play on the bus at night on your way back to POR with the crickets going is still playing in my mind.:cloud9: it's only 342 days until we head back.

Oh I'm so jealous that you were just there and have another trip to look forward to so soon. Me....I have to wait 360+ days til my first trip in 3 years...How in the world am I ever going to make it???? :sad2: I've been stalking these boards, esp this thread because it's our first stay at POR and I'm so excited! I'm keeping it a secret from the kids til we get to the airport and it's going to be the hardest secret to keep EVER!

I'm thinking of staying at POR if we go back next November/December. Specifically for the princess themed rooms  (we are staying at the pirate room next week at CBR!).

How fast do you think those rooms will fill up?

Thanks :goodvibes

Given the high prices and the decent availability (512 rooms) I suspect it won't be too hard to get these rooms, but you never know with little princesses! :)

Why not book one anyway? You've got nothing to lose as you can get your full deposit back on a room-only booking right up to 6 days before arrival...

For a traveler leaving in a couple days, could you guys tell me about your experiences around the resort as far as transportation waits, pool crowds, also has anyone had groceries or alcohol delivered to the resort? What was your experience like with that-as we are having some drinks delivered.

Is it ok to bring your own beverages poolside (as long as it isn't in glass)?

Thanks!

in 45 days, I have a bad knee so we booked the preferred category. I've heard they are not in the best condition? Could anyone elaborate? Any recent return visitors in the pref. category. Anyone else gonna be there 10/28-11/5...going to MNSSHP on Oct 30.......Thanks so much

I was in building 14, I believe 1446 and It was beautiful, not more than a minute walk to food court and main building. South Depot has the smallest amount of wait, from my experience smaller wait than if you went to another bus depot on property. My room had just had the floors shampooed, the morning of the day I got there. It was ready by the time I flew down that evening.

I'm right there with ya! I haven't been since '08 and DS16 hasn't been since '98! I can't wait to see his face when we get there. He does know we're going but he doesn't know that my parents will be joining us!

Good luck on keeping the secret! Make sure you capture it on either video or camera :)
