KCMike what happened to your pics, all I see now is an insignia for photobucket

...I'm just surprised that it too Disney this long to incorporate Tiana into the POR. When the movie came out, I said to anyone that will listen, that it was a perfect match....

I was saying the same thing too, but not in the way of rooms. I was really hoping they would revamp Boatwright's into Tiana's Place and make it a respectable restaurant worth going out of one's way and traveling to POR for. Although, there isn't much room for there to be a successful restaurant there, at least not without completely changing the layout of the Mill and River Roost along with Boatwright's. Oh well, one can still dream. :goodvibes

Yeah I exceeded my monthly bandwith for photobucket. So sad. All is good now.

I really, really miss the breakfasts there. I never even looked at the food court the first few years; I booked it right to the restaurant every morning.

Now, I love my make-your-own omelet at the food court, but I really miss their huge omelets and the sweet potato pancakes.

Don't forget the deep fried french toast balls they used to have (I forget what they were called). I used to love those. I was surprised that after just a few year gap since the previous time that I had stayed at POR, they had gotten rid of those amazing breakfasts.

Hi everyone! I am staying for my first time at POR in October. I have visited there and walked around but never stayed. We are looking forward to it. We have stayed at all levels from value to deluxe but for some reason I am really looking forward to this one.

We were originally going to go preferred but we liked the mansion section a little better so we did a standard room and requested the magnolia building. I hope that it works but if not it will be ok. I understand nothing is guaranteed.

We are now wondering if we want to get a rental car. We have two rooms so for the price savings we had of changing to standard rooms we could get a rental mini van for our dates.

Did anyone stay at POR and wish they had a rental? We don't mind WDW transportation but I am thinking if I am really far from breakfast I could even drive! ;)

Also, how is the waterslide at POR? Like for instance compared to any of the other moderate slides.

TIA for any info!

we've stayed at POR many times and never wished we had a car. The buses to get really full depending on the time of year but even standing it wasn't a horrible ride to the parks and as the buses empty out you end up with a seat eventually. Not sure about the slide we only went to the pool once and no one rode the slide. we're usually in the parks from early morning till late evening so not really any time to swim. The food court is great, I think its one of the best ones at any resort.

We weren't going to stay there this time, but my husband SHOCKED me and announced that he was coming with us in October, so we're on board here! Staying 10/22-10/26. I requested a refurb'd room in Acadian House or Magnolia Terrace, so here is to hoping both are done by then! :thumbsup2

My daughter and I were booked at the Pop, but my husband would H-A-T-E it there. This will be my first visit back to POR since 95', my first visit ever to WDW, when it was still Dixie Landings.

Has anyone confirmed if the renovations started in the Mansions yet? I remember reading they were to start the last week of June or so, but have not seen any updates on it.

We love the mansion section best too. But they are undergoing refirbisments right now so depending on your dates Magnolia Terrace may be closed for reno. I don't think any location is too far from the main building or food that you'd have to drive.

We always use WDW transportation, and don't have a problem with it. 99% of the time it works well.

Yes, they started work on time as far as we can tell. So in around three weeks time, Acadian House should hopefully be re-opened - unless they bring any sections back into use separately, of course.
